Maybe my perception is skewed by the Baseball Hall of Fame, where no-doubt, sure-thing candidates like Jeff Bagwell and Mike Piazza flounder on the ballot for years, but I thought the Pro Football Hall of Fame class was relatively weak. You won't hear a single complaint out of me with regards to Junior Seau or Will Shields, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around Jerome Bettis or even Tim Brown as Hall of Famers.
With Jerome Bettis, I grew up when he was in his prime, and hardly ever did I look at him and think, "There's one of the great running backs of our time." He always struck me as pretty good but never even close to guys like Emmitt Smith, Marshall Faulk, or Curtis Martin. In Bettis' best season, he ran for 1,665 yards and he exceeded 1,300 only four times, in an era where running backs were the stars of the show offensively. And he was never a value out of the backfield as a pass catcher. If he wasn't running the ball, he may as well have not been on the field. Also with Bettis, his run of "dominance" ended after the 2001 season like a freight train going off of an unfinished bridge. He was a glorified fullback in his final four seasons.
With Tim Brown, a lot of his impressive career statistics can be attributed to longevity, playing 17 seasons in the NFL. In that sense, he's like the Craig Biggio of the NFL. Sure, he finished his career with 1,094 receptions, but he exceeded 100 receptions in a season only once. He pulled in 14,934 receiving yards, but only once exceeded 1,400 yards. He had 100 receiving touchdowns, but only went for double-digit touchdown catches in a season twice. He was really, really, really good, but I don't know if I'd qualify him as one of the all-time legends of the game.

How is Bradford #20? He must be going to have a good first half in week 1 before his season ends early in the 3rd quarter.

Cassel ahead of Bridgewater is the most amazing thing of all time.
Flip Manning and Luck and I don't mind that top portion.

There are little things on that list that I disagree with, but on the whole it's pretty reasonable.
- I'd put Russell Wilson and Andrew Luck ahead of Peyton Manning - I'd put Cam Newton and Ryan Tannehill ahead of Andy Dalton, Colin Kaepernick, and Alex Smith - I'd bump Matt Cassel and Blake Bortles down a few spots
But other than that, there's really nothing that jumps out at me as egregious.
EDIT - Eh, what the hell, here's my list:
32. Geno Smith, New York Jets 31. Josh McCown, Cleveland 30. Ryan Mallett, Houston 29. Matt Cassel, Buffalo 28. Blake Bortles, Jacksonville 27. Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay 26. Marcus Mariota, Tennessee 25. Sam Bradford, Philadelphia 24. Robert Griffin III, Washington 23. Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota 22. Carson Palmer, Arizona 21. Derek Carr, Oakland 20. Andy Dalton, Cincinnati 19. Jay Cutler, Chicago 18. Alex Smith, Kansas City 17. Nick Foles, St. Louis 16. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 15. Ryan Tannehill, Miami 14. Eli Manning, New York Giants 13. Matt Ryan, Atlanta 12. Cam Newton, Carolina 11. Joe Flacco, Baltimore 10. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh 9. Matthew Stafford, Detroit 8. Philip Rivers, San Diego 7. Tony Romo, Dallas 6. Peyton Manning, Denver 5. Drew Brees, New Orleans 4. Russell Wilson, Seattle 3. Andrew Luck, Indianapolis 2. Tom Brady, New England 1. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay

let the debate begin I have no problem with Manning being #3. If he is healthy enough, his ability to read defenses let's him play well beyond his physical skills and let's not underscore the value of knowing exactly which play to audible to. I have no problem with listing the unproven rookies as 31 and 32. I even don't mind Mariotta ahead of Winston, since I think Marcus probably is better right now but Winston might have a higher ceiling. I think the only reason Carson Palmer is so low is because he simply cannot stay healthy. When he is healthy, he is in the top 10. He just cannot stay on the field. I understand why Cassel is listed ahead of Bridgewater and Carr. Right now his experience edge makes him slightly better than them, but that will not be the case next year, I think. They have physical tools that Cassel is simply lacking and unless they regress as bad as RG3, they will be more complete in a year's time. I think Tannenhill and Newton both should be moved up 4-5 slots. Matt Ryan confuses me. He is like Eli Manning. They both have all of the tools to be great. They both experience gaffes that would be called "rookie mistakes" if they were not so experienced. Manning at least has some runs where he is able to focus and put together strong runs, where Ryan has not even done that.

Matt Cassel could have the experience of Methuselah and he wouldn't be better then Bridgewater or Carr at this point. Seriously the man is in a Battle with EJ Manuel for his job

Seriously the man is in a Battle with EJ Manuel for his job Oh, I am not saying that if you have the choice between starting Bridgewater, Carr, or Cassel that I would have Cassel anywhere but 3rd string, but as far as how they will perform right his moment, Cassel is less likely to make a bad choice and lose you a game than the other two. Don't get me wrong, he will still lose you games and unlike the other two does not have the tools required to actually win games from behind, but at this very moment he is ever so slightly, by the thinnest of margins, better than the two 2nd year players. That will probably not even be the case come Week 8 this season.
