How does the June 9, 1997 episode look and sound? The old Classics On Demand service was scheduled to air it in February 2008 but didn't. WWE had Michael Cole claim on the air that it was being skipped due to "recording errors." The Observer claimed that, according to WWE, there were audio issues with the master tape (that WWE got from Turner in 2001) severe enough that WWE believed their copy of the episode was not up to broadcast standard. It looks and sounds great.

Holy shit, Hennig absolutely drilled Jarrett with the United States Title on the September 22, 1997 Nitro.

Is Goldberg's debut Nitro up yet? I thought it would take longer for them to upload it, but it's up now (9/22/97).

I'm excited to get started with these. I know the general storyline of WCW in the 1990s but I didn't watch Nitro back in the day, so I am gonna start now!!

There was speculation online that WWE skipped the episode because Benoit got involved in the main event, and since it was heavily hyped during the course of the show, they couldn't just cut it. However, the Observer then claimed that the "recording errors" explanation was true and that WWE even considered turning to a fan for a copy of the show but didn't. I'd be curious to know if WWE was lying and there was never a problem, or if they found another source/fixed the original.

I thought WWE was lying myself as I found it odd that one Nitro had that problem.

The wife and I are at the go-home show for Superbrawl, and we both have developed an intense, burning hatred for both the NWO and Roddy Piper. Everything goes back to them. Ultimo Dragon comes out? "I wonder who would attack VK Wallstreet like that?" Prince Iuakea gets a shock victory over Steven Regal? "I can't believe Piper would lock himself in Alcatraz like that." Dean Malenko? There's Syxx parading around with his second stolen title belt. Tag teams in the crowd? The NWO (with Syxx) crash the segment. The Steiner flip their rental car? Guess who's involved? (Hint: It's freaking Syxx.) It's making these episodes hard to get through.

1/14/97: the Outsiders greet DDP and give him an nWo shirt accepting him. That pop DDP got for giving the Diamond Cutter to Hall and pulling down the rope to dodge Nash?
Still awesome, still a Top Ten in my opinion.

random 3 hour feb 98 show up
main event outsiders vs steiners
buffering a lot, streaming slow...as per ushe. still tryna watch. nitro just felt cooler than raw during the winning streak. idk what it was. especially right near the end. brightest before they burn out, you know?
edit: show also contains macho man/hollywood hogan in the middle, which announcer louie spicolli notes, "most people would have to pay for it, but we get it for free!" he actually does a great job as announcer for most of the first hour, which is very sad cause he died just days later. but that sentence, which i assume was fed to him, is funny in that it was one of wcw's biggest criticisms, and he was bragging. he actually did great, though, very funny, very talkative, really held the show together. rip, buddy.
edit 2: eddy & jericho tag against chavo and deano. jericho is in his super heel cruiserweight champ run, and eddy is clearly a heel based on teaming with jericho and his scowl throughout. but still the crowd chants "eddy! eddy!" and there are clearly already pro-eddy signs in the crowd. he was so underrated until right until the end. granted, it was in el paso, which is his hometown, but this isn't just a hometown crowd, he's CRAZY over. no one cares about chavo either lol

What's up with the random gaps towards the end of '97?

I hate the DDP theme dub. It has to bad my least favorite part of it all.

Been watching all of the old Raws & Nitros at the same time. DDP's theme dub and Public Enemy's theme dub are the most annoying.

That happens all over the Network. There's a fade to black for a commercial break in a show, then when the video returns, it's now 1-3 segments later. Clash VI is missing 3 matches, and the 11/18/1996 Nitro is missing Johnny Grunge vs. Chris Jericho because of it. It's not because something is wrong with the footage, either, since the 1/25/1999 Raw did the same thing when it aired on WWE Classics On Demand in 2013 (removing two matches over an ad break), but the episode is complete on the Network. That 10/13 Nitro is missing a ton of footage. www.ddtdigest.com/updates/1997102m.htmIn the case of the 2 Nitro shows I mentioned, the segments not seen on WWE Network were intact when they aired on COD. The only thing I can suggest is get people to contact the Network support team and see if they know this has happened and if they do, ask why.

Apparently they moved Malenko and Mysterio to later in the show too. Edit: I'm watching the rest of the episode now. They just replayed the Alex vs Disco. Wtf
