So famous, 11 years before I was born, here it is, no cheats!
"Henderson made a wild stab for it and fell. Here's another shot! Right in front, they score! Henderson has scored for Canada!"
Edited it to add, not a call but an intro....
"Hello Canada and hockey fans in the United States and Newfoundland"

Need to add a Murray Walker(ism): "There is nothing wrong with the car, except it's on fire!" I'm not sure he had many that you would call "the best", but there were certainly plenty of memorable ones. "The lead car is absolutely unique, except for the one behind it which is identical." "This has been a great season for Nelson Piquet, as he is now known, and always has been." "And the first three cars are all Escorts, which isn't surprising as this is an all Escort race." "Look up there! That's the sky!" "I should imagine that the conditions in the cockpit are unimaginable!" ...and so on. I love the one when Damon Hill won the World Championship and he says something about having to stop talking as he's got a lump in his throat.

I don't know why some people prefer the Jack Buck call, that one is better, imo. But here's one of Buck's I enjoy (and which isn't in the previously posted montage):

"Joe has had his moments. Trying to lay off that ball, low to the outside part of the plate, he just went after one. Two balls and two strikes on him. Here's the pitch on the way. A swing and a belt! Left field ... way back ... BLUE JAYS WIN IT! The Blue Jays are World Series Champions as Joe Carter hits a three-run home run in the ninth inning and the Blue Jays have repeated as World Series Champions! Touch 'em all, Joe! You'll never hit a bigger home run in your life!"

Piggybacking off the discussion of favorite calls in wrestling... great moments in sports commentary! What are your favorites? Two of mine came from the same play: Sid Bream sliding in safely to send the Atlanta Braves to the World Series in 1992. Skip Caray on Braves radio and Sean McDonough on CBS provided two great calls from two different perspectives (Caray the unabashed Braves homer, McDonough the national play-by-play man). I've memorized each one verbatim because I've heard them several hundred times. I'm obviously biased as a Boston sports fan to just choose all the calls of my teams winning championships, but I think my personal favorites are Sean McDonough's call of Sid Bream crossing the plate in game 7 of the 1992 National League Championship Series and Al Michaels' call of Derek Fisher's 0.4 second shot to beat the Spurs in 2004. Both calls are great for one reason: their voice cracks. These are two of the most buttoned-up professional broadcasters the world will ever know, so when their voices crack like that, you know something insane and legendary has happened. The way McDonough's voice raises when he screams "...and he is SAFE!" or how Al Michaels, the guy who was on scene for the Miracle on Ice, the World Series earthquake, and just about every major sporting event ever, completely and utterly loses his s*** when Fisher's shot goes in are unforgettable.

"HE CALLED HIM SAFE! HE CALLED HIM SAFE!...YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME JERRY MEALS!"
The play that pushed baseball into the world of instant replay. The 19 inning game, over 6 hours long...I remember staying up to watch it. Tim Neverett sounded like he wanted to cry at one point.

That Auburn call in the Iron Bowl 13 was just amazing man. Whenever it comes on I watch it thru. On Facebook whenever a Bammer gets too uppity I post the video or I post "00:01" I don't like either team, but that is still among top 3 college football moments ever.

Another, slightly more obscure favorite of mine: UCF's Hail Mary to beat East Carolina in 2014 (a.k.a. "Hail Perriman"). ECU had erased an 18-point deficit and had the lead with five seconds left. Then UCF's Breshad Perriman caught a 51-yard touchdown to wipe out the comeback. Longtime UCF radio announcer Marc Daniels literally lost his voice after he called it. soundcloud.com/img-audio/ucf-img-marc-daniels-holman-perriman-51yd-gw-td-32-30-4q-12-4-14And the TV call is pretty good too. The best part is that the announcers had written off UCF as having no chance before the final play. The utter disbelief in Rece Davis' voice is something to behold, especially if you're a Knights fan.

Here some of my favorite calls from Chicago's greatest announcers. Because I'm a Chicago sports homer
Pat Foley: BAAAAAANERMAAAAAAAN!!!!!!
Jack Brickhouse on Ernie Bank's 500th homerun
Also, I didn't know this until later...but Brickhouse also had the call for Willie May's "The Catch"
Harry Caray: "CUBS ARE THE CHAMPIONS!! THE CUBS ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!! THE CUBS WIN!!!"
And even though he sucks as a play by play man. Chip Caray has his moments.
