I hope Barrett's around for a long time to come, but I wouldn't blame him for leaving. Past few years have been nothing but a sequence of WWE sabotaging him every time he finds something that works. Many of his pushes ended due to injury. and despite what people liek to say the Nexus was still going well after Summerslam. Wade's title matches were months afterwards and they were terrible. When they really screwed him was the Bad News gimmick. He was getting really over, and it was making him a better overall performer. The Nexus angle/push seemed like it should've ended with him getting the title, but I just don't think he was ready for it. Also, they really wanted to push Miz and that got in the way. Given the choice between the two, I think Miz was more ready for the title at the time.

The WWE Championship in general seemed to take a backseat to Barrett and Nexus during that period. Miz didn't really become much of a focus until WM27, and we all know how that ended up.
