Lol @ showing somebodies genitals without their consent is worse than trivializing genocide. I mean it's not a contest but damn. As a black guy with a number of female friends and relatives, I can tell you I am a lot more tolerant of people saying stupid shit about slavery/Jim Crow than I am about seeing my friends having their nudes posted and circulated on the internet without their consent. And knowing at least two black girls that it has happened to, I imagine they feel the same way. So, sorry if my vitriol seems over the top, even for this thread. Maybe I just don't feel strongly about it because I don't know anybody that it's happened to. Rollins was cheating though and I DO feel strongly about that (it's not just embarrassing, it can be downright painful), so it's easy to see how somebody can do something stupid in that situation. Anyway, I'm not trying to start a debate over it I just figured I should have elaborated a little more in my last post. |

Am I the only one uncomfortable about the string of Nazi puns? People rightfully began their criticism of her in the first place for making light of/glorifying the whole era on social media but her following has been followed by page after page of clumsy jokes about the same sensitive subject. I know it's not the same but things like seeing people using the chemical they used in the gas chambers to make puns doesn't sit right with me.

Just personally, I see the difference in intent being enough. She seems to support these stances, whereas a lot of people here I think, fall into the Mel Brooks category. You make fun of every element of them mercilessly, so nothing connected with this ideology can ever have power or be taken seriously ever again. |
