#2 Brisbane Broncos are the first team into the 2015 NRL Grand Final with a 31-12 win over #1 Sydney Roosters. This ensures that there will be no Sydney-based team in the Sydney-hosted grand final, as the other team will come from tomorrow's #4 Melbourne Storm v #3 North Queensland Cowboys match.

What a win.. What a team..
Yeah Hawthorn won.. Into their fourth straight Grand Final. Fremantle the Minor Premiers are out! Hawks play the winner of tomorrow's other final of West Coast and North Melbourne.
Go Hawks!

They have a massive chance now at being only the second three-in-a-row AFL champions since the 1950s. And they very well could have been looking at four in a row given how close their loss to Sydney in 2012 was.

What a beautiful morning.. Some fallout from last night's AFL Prelim final.. I do not believe any Hawthorn player suffered any bad injuries. Luke Hodge almost KO'ed himself trying to spoil a ball but he finished the match and did not seem the worst for wear. If Jack Gunston is fit to play he will certainly play in the Grand Final. Gunston has missed the last two finals matches with an ankle injury and the Hawks did toy with playing him yesterday but they did not want to risk him. Poor old Ryan Shoenmakers who is one of the few senior Hawthorn players to not have a premiership medal will most likely make way for Gunston. Does not look like the Hawks have to worry about losing any players to suspension.. Unless the MRP find something the coverage missed. Only report was for Freo's Michael Walters for basically a cheap hit on a Hawks player (Stratton I think, can't find a video to clarify) after the three quarter time siren. If Fremantle had won I'm sure this report would be a big deal in the sports media. Does not really matter now. A number of incidents involving the hostile Fremantle crowd. One was as Hawthorn mid Isaac Smith ran towards the boundary fence a Freo support raised his arm in threatening manner (like he was going to hit Smith) but quickly realized that was a seriously stupid idea.. I think he thrown out regardless. Another one was Hawk's forward Luke Breust was thrown back first against the boundary fence and then a Freo fan leaned over the fence to yell some abuse as Breust lay on the ground in pain. That one probably not as bad as I see that shit all the time (mainly at wrestling shows ), a security guard walked over to tell the fan to calm down or something. The worst incident was a video has emerged of a Freo fan punching a woman (was not wearing club colours, but guessing a fellow Freo fan) in the head. Police as investigating. I know I'm paintin the Freo fans as ugly, but to their credit the surrounding fans which were mostly Freo fans who witnessed the assault were clearly outraged by it. Still a bad look and I'm sure the Dockers will ban this asshole from attending future games (the man was wearing a Docker's Michael Walters #10 guernsey, and I'm sure Walters would be sickened if he saw that footage) Other fallout: This match was likely the final for the Docker's superstar and Paul Roma lookalike Matthew Pavlich. He was seen on the ground about an hour after the match with his family looking pretty emotional. Another star who did not play due to injury was Luke McPharlin, he is also probably going to retire. I guess the only good news for Fremantle is that Nate Fyfe can actually attend Monday night's Brownlow medal count and most likely accept the medal in person.

Gill McLachan (CEO of the AFL) has condemned the man that hit the woman and apologised on behalf of the whole AFL. Also saying violence of this nature particular against woman and children will not be tolerated.
Hope Roger Goodall was listening.

I'll probably be pulling for the Cowboys at this point, as they're the only possible first-time winners left. Yes, even though they thumped my team.

#3 North Queensland Cowboys are team two in the NRL Grand Final, defeating #4 Melbourne Storm with a 32-12 win.
This makes the 2015 grand final an all-Queensland affair, the second time that a grand final will be contested by two non-Sydney teams.

West Coast are into their first Grand Final in almost a decade, beating a brave North Melbourne.. But in the end the Eagle were the far better team.
2015 AFL GRAND FINAL will be between the two birds of prey teams West Coast Eagles vs Hawthorn Hawks ..
Met before in Grand Final way back in 1991 at VFL Park... We're this happened:

I'm a huge sports watcher & I have no interest in either Grand Final this year. My only emotion is happiness that The Storm lost tonight. I can't stand the smug air of entitlement of The Broncos & Hawthorn, my dislike for West Coast stems from the Cousins, Kerr etc druggy era and I feel nothing but complete indifference for The Cowboys. Hurry up Cricket season!

Yeah this AFL Finals series has not really put butts in seats. With exception of the two elimination finals in the first weekend.. the matches have been pretty standard fare or one team being thumped. No real close finishes (again except the elimination finals and the Freo/Sydney match but that was still pretty dull). Hopefully the Grand Final is a bit more exciting. And the Hawks win of course Should be, the Eagles and Hawks are two high attacking teams. I know the Eagles easily beat the, a fortnight ago. But this time the Hawks are in their "domain" .. Yeah, so hopefully it's a more evenly contested match.
