Like the sports version of, "Kevin Nash? I thought he was dead".
I couldn't believe that Juwan Howard was still around in the 2012-2013 season.

MLB: Oliver Perez. I saw a few weeks ago that he was traded from Arizona to Houston. I immediately thought, "He still pitches?"
Before his resurgence this year with the Royals, I forgot Kendrys Morales existed for a couple of years.

Miguel Cairo, who I remembered as an aging utility infielder for the Yankees when they played the Red Sox in the 2004 postseason, was still playing for the Reds in 2012. I legitimately thought he'd stopped playing around 2007.

Jason Giambi was still playing last year at the tender age of 43

I thought LaTroy Hawkins retired years ago. Found out a few weeks ago he's now with the Blue Jays.

Richard Wright. Is he still Man City's 3rd choice keeper?

Richard Wright. Is he still Man City's 3rd choice keeper? Yup, and next year will be his 20th as a pro, somehow.

He's also "played" for City and Arsenal - kind of crazy. Along the same lines I'm not particularly shocked by it because I consume far too much football so know things like this but it amuses me to tell people that former Man Utd goalkeeper Roy Carroll is still playing. He currently plays in League Two with Notts County and I think (although not 100% on this) that with Maik Taylor's recent retirement (another player who went on forever, must be mid-40s now, just retired in the summer) he's been recalled into the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming Euro qualifiers.

Yeah, he has a couple from when he was a young promising keeper at Ipswich that got him the move to Arsenal in the first place, till he got there and they realised he wasn't that good.

And his propensity for getting injured, particularly in bizarre ways such as being out for a good couple of months after falling out of his loft.

Hockey: Patrick Ellias, Jaromir Jagr, Alex Tanguay and others. When I saw Ellias was still playing I nearly spit out my drink. Dude feels like he should be 70 now. Baseball: Julio Franco (playing in Japan.) Other than that, no one since they all usually come to the Mets Football: Matt Hasselbeck Basketball: Nazr Mohammed, Jason Terry.

Hearing that Rex Grossman got cut today, I thought he was out of the league years ago.

No joke, I thought that Charles Woodson was long retired and about to go into the HoF until I saw him in a preseason game the other week. The black hole indeed.
