This went up in Lewiston, Maine. Might be a little out of the way for Judge Berman but it's worth it.

Remember when some of you guys said that Goodell's level of fairness didn't matter in the process? Yeah. WHY WOULDN'T HE BE FAIR TO A STAR PLAYER? Again why would he have a vendetta against a star player of a major franchise? This was fair until the judge over turned it You're telling me a guy who runs an office that leaked false info to the press, failed to warn a guy of his possible punishments, withheld key info until the last possible moment, and published a report with obvious flaws is a fairer ruler than an actual judge? This isn't just me speaking as a Pats fan, btw- this is actual fact. Look, I could live to be a billion years old and not know why the NFL made Deflategate in to the big deal that it became. But you people have got to stop letting your blind hatred of the Patriots cloud your common sense.

Quick thing: maybe I missed it, but I don't believe the judge exonerated Brady. He most certainly did punish Goodell for going beyond the punishments prescribed in the CBA. NPR was discussing this a few hours ago and it was made clear that Brady's innocence or guilt was not under discussion. It was Goodell's handling of the whole thing. The law expert they were talking to also said that the wording the judge used makes it nearly impossible for the NFL to have a case with their appeal. This, and it ties to some of the people who've said outright they're angry because of the Boston fans being insufferable. I'm not going to deny Tom Brady probably cheated in Deflategate. All I'll say is, if you're angry Brady's walking from this suspension, you support Roger Goodell to be able to demand to search people's cell phones without a warrant- something that is as unconstitutional as **** and will absolutely be used against your teams as well- solely because you want Boston sports fans to be unhappy for four weeks. If you hate Boston fans so much you're willing to ignore people's Constitutional rights just to see a team you don't like lose a couple games, I can't wait to see them try this on your team...if not ON YOU, because you give Roger Goodell this right, it'll happen at your job or your apartment sooner or later.

The ruling was not a judgement of guilt just of how fair the proceedings were. Fact is Brady he not been honest about his role in this whole mess, Did it warrent a 4 game suspension? Not really, Is he the holy saint of saints his fans claim he is? Not by a long shot.

You can't take this stuff too seriously as you have to remember that the Governor of Florida (or the Mayor of Miami, I can't remember) offered Steve Bartman their area where he can move to. You are taking these things way too personally.

Well considering we had our Super Bowl championship offseason ruined by a corrupt league and had to deal with 31 other fanbases calling our team cheaters and trying to diminish their accomplishments for seven months, you'll have to excuse us for having our chance to celebrate.

Also, if Room Temperature (who failed to notice we moved this to another thread) is to be seen, your team still has paranoid psychos trying to claim they cheated to win another Super Bowl. Nothing changes. Besides, like I said....that sign is just harmless fun and not to be taken seriously.

Honestly, I celebrate fans with that mentality. All offseason, I've had to deal with fans crowing about the integrity of the game and fair play and all this other bullcrap, when the fact of the matter is they don't give a rat's turds about the integrity of the game, they just want the easiest path to the Super Bowl and think that Tom Brady missing four games would do just that. Just be honest and admit you wanted Brady suspended because it would make life easier for your team.

The Patriots are not my favorite team to put it lightly, but I hate Goodell even more. Glad this whole thing got overturned and people will finally shut up about it (until the appeal process begins). Would I have liked it if their best player wasn't available for our game against them? Yes, of course, because it gives my team a better chance to beat yours. But now that he is available, that game is a lot more interesting.

HOnestly, I think the Pats were going ot make the playoffs even if Brady was susended. 3 of the games were winnable even without brady, especially with Belichick being the evil genius that he is. You can'ttell me a team that almost made the playoofs with Matt freakin' Cassel would be completely hopeless if Brady was out.

Man, Deadspin spent today taking a giant, steaming, and enormously deserved dump all over the NFL and NCAA. Most pertinent to this thread is their take on how this outcome affects Goodell going forward. deadspin.com/this-is-roger-goodells-defining-defeat-and-the-one-he-1728458158I'll make one thing completely clear: as much as I fully believe Brady cheated, I believe much more that it is vital that a corporate executive who constantly overreaches his authority has been reprimanded, and I hope it snowballs all over Goodell until he can't do his job anymore. He, and the NFL hierarchy, as well, is awful. Other articles had to do with the Virginia Tech football coach using the super small stipend his players get (cost of tuition money, about $3,200 a year) to start levying fines on them for any mistakes they make, and a big one on the Rams having one of those "soldier returns from overseas to surprise wife" that turned out to be more than a bit cynical.

I think we all understand that people who aren't patriots fans are going to attempt to find any reason to justify their claims that Brady cheated... Anything from a completely fraudulent Chris mortenson tweet, to an ill perceived feeling that the patriots bending of the rules somehow exceeds any of the other NFL teams.
Likewise Patriot fans will in large part try to paint the NFL and Goodell as some evil. corporation working from a dormant volcano to destroy their beloved team.
Goodell works for the owners and in the end he answers to them and them alone. If they didn't want this it would have went away. There's been a feeling that Goodell and Kraft were in bed together (figuratively) and also that Goodell punishes black athletes in a manner he doesn't punish white athletes. Take those two things into account and Goodell way over reached and in the end it bit him in the ass and he looks awful for it.
