I was watching the Pats' preseason game last night and Steve Burton (sports reporter for Boston's CBS affiliate, WBZ) was on the sidelines with some fans and one guy had a copy Judge Bergman's 40 page decision. That guy must have been insufferable to deal with. "Hey guys. look what I brought! Guys, look what I brought! Guys! LOOK. AT. WHAT. I. BROUGHT!!!!!"

Objectivity, due process, innocent until proven guilty.
Instead we got an outright smear campaign, guilty until proven anything, bullcrap reports that were leaked and lingered for MONTHS without correction, a half-cooked "independent" report edited by league counsel, a corrupt commissioner...and when anyone who had a hand in cooking up this steaming pile of bunk had the opportunity to come clean, they suddenly couldn't be bothered to show (Pash's absence in court). Chris Mortinson was scheduled to be on Boston's Dennis and Callahan morning show a month ago and pussied out at the last minute, claiming he "didn't want this to be about him." Now Goodell's pulling the exact same crap, no-showing the season opener because it "should be about the festivities."
News flash, geniuses: YOU BOTH tried to make this about everything BUT the game by producing this fabricated witch hunt, and now everyone can see that the emperor has no clothes.
...and people are having meltdowns that Brady's idiotic suspension without any direct evidence is being overturned. It's like watching a kid try to jam a puzzle piece that doesn't fit over and over again.

Has anyone checked out The Facts on Deflategate? It's written by John Dowd, who was known for the Dowd Report that got Pete Rose banned from baseball for life, and a Steelers fan. Speaking of the Steelers, remember HeadSmart Labs, who did their own investigation on Deflategate and very much sided with Belichick? They're also based in Pittsburgh.

In sports for some reason its commonplace to try to negate or at least minimize other team/player acheivements.

I think we all understand that people who aren't patriots fans are going to attempt to find any reason to justify their claims that Brady cheated... Anything from a completely fraudulent Chris mortenson tweet, to an ill perceived feeling that the patriots bending of the rules somehow exceeds any of the other NFL teams. Likewise Patriot fans will in large part try to paint the NFL and Goodell as some evil. corporation working from a dormant volcano to destroy their beloved team. Goodell works for the owners and in the end he answers to them and them alone. If they didn't want this it would have went away. There's been a feeling that Goodell and Kraft were in bed together (figuratively) and also that Goodell punishes black athletes in a manner he doesn't punish white athletes. Take those two things into account and Goodell way over reached and in the end it bit him in the ass and he looks awful for it. honestly I hate the Pats and just don't care about DeflateGate. My opinion has always been that Goddell made the punishment in a panic mode to try and save his job. Between the Domestic Abuse issues, Bounty Gate, and Bully Gate Goddell has not had a good few years and continuously contradicts himself and lies. Now based on the early information I thought it would be tough for Brady to win his appeal, but as more came out it was obviouse the NFL/Goddell were just trying to save face due to their low approval rating from fans. And a lot of their defense in court boiled down to "yeah it wasn't fair, but the players gave me the power to do as I saw fit"

Is it wrong that I want the Pats to win the Super Bowl again with Brady as the MVP so that Goodell has to stand up there with him?
I'm not even really a Pats fan, but Goodell needs to go and needs not let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

Well, ESPN just dropped a bomb accusing the Pats and league office of working together to hide and destroy everything Spygate related to avoid a government investigation. That pissed off the rest of the owners which caused Goodell to notify all teams that if any team were caught cheating again, they would be punished harshly, something directed at NE. That is what led to everything Deflategate.

The NFL gets creamed in court and less than a week later, their lapdog comes running out with this report.
Yeah, nothing sketchy at all about that.

And lying to discredit your reporting division to get more story while you can milk idk the whole football season for material is worth it

So the league makes themselves look bad to stop themselves from looking bad? I could see if something smaller but covering up something to prevent a Congressional investigation and making up statements from coaches to defend their practices does the NFL what good? If anything this makes the Pats look more like a victim than villian in the most recent stuff, IMO.

And with ESPN's past of trying to milk stuff, yeah......I believe they are doing just that. To ESPN, it is worth it. And even if ESPN gets called out on it, they can act like Chris Mortensen and say it doesn't matter if the parts came out to be false.
