Do you think a wrestler might pick out an older attire to use at house shows? Ie Kurt in 2005 might have a few "established" singlets he wears on TV but at a house show he might randomly wear a infrequently worn singlet from 2000. I noticed that too, I don't know if it's something required. Also, I remember seeing a picture of Rikishi before he worked WWE TV in late 99 wearing a pink thong.

At Survivor Series 88, Dynamite Kid had a moustache for the only time in his wwf career. Guess he figured it wasnt worth shaving that morning since it was his final night in the company. In his book, "Pure Dynamite" he mentioned how he hadn't shaved and Vince told him he likes all his babyfaces to be clean shaven-He had the stash after he left the WWF when he was back in Stampede with Davey Boy in 1989.

His face looks like it's photoshopped on there.

What? The biggest babyface in WWE is known for his moustache and Macho Man wasn't known for being clean shaven either.

Tough to get a screen grab...but 1984, Maple Leaf Garden appearences of the British Bulldogs, had them wearing robes...not the Union Jack robes of late years, but red, green and blue sequin and satin ones. Dynamite's had a Sumo looking character on the back. Must have been from their Japan days. They were still wearing their star and lightning bolt tights made famous in Calgary. The match with the Bulldogs vs Goldie Rogers and Bobby Bass they sport the robes...a couple of their singles MLG matches they wear them as well. When I first saw them live, they wore the green and red ones. Later in 85 they went to the traditional red tights, and red satin jackets.

I imagine some probably would, particularly since I think it's standard for them to pay for their own ring gear. They'd want to get their money's worth out of it.

Ultimate Warrior wore awful singlets in 1992 One of them, and I can't imagine the expense he went to to make it so, matched his skin tone as close as one can say to 100%.

I can see how in Vince's mind a guy with dark slicked back hair like Dynamite with a mustache would look like an old-timey villain.

I don't remember exactly what he wore, but I seem to recall Fatu's first appearance as Rikishi (called Rikishi Fatu) on one of the weekend shows like Jakked. He wasn't fun-loving yet. He was more or less Yokozuna with long bleached-blond hair.

Taz in his Kid Krush persona: (wrestling Tommy Dreamer in 92) Lightning Kid early 90's red gear: Only seeing the Tripod logo on the Taz one. You will be able to see it but no one else can. They don't like hotlinking/embedding. Angelfire does the same thing FWIW.

I can't find pics anywhere
But I believe In John Bradshaw Leyfields first ever match under the JBL name, he wrestled in long tights against some Lucia jobber guy.
After that he resorted to trunks.

WCW referee Randy Anderson wore navy blue sweatpants in the ring sometimes with his button down shirt and bow tie. Couldn't find pics.
