Badd Blood 1997. The Patriot enters to what will become Kurt Angle's music. I already knew this, but what I've learned is even when the chant isn't present, I hear "You suck" naturally within the music.

I didn’t realize that Bret didn’t main event a single pay per view as WWF champion after winning the belt at Mania. Piper/Lawler closed the King of the Ring, then Summerslam and Survivor Series were closed by Undertaker matches.

Unless I am missing some house show matches here or there, the Royal Rumble 1993 is the only time Razor Ramon ever challenged for the WWE world title. I can only think of twice that Hall challenged for the WCW title. For as high profile as he was in both companies, him only ever having 3 matches for the top prize is shocking. I know he never held a world title, but to so rarely even be in a world title program is surprising to me.

Watching Spring Stampede 1994 and the lack of chemistry between Schiavone and Heenan is so cringy. You can tell neither one likes working with the other.

Muta gets DQ'd for throwing Austin over the ropes despite it happening multiple times during the night with no DQ, such a stupid rule

They actually liked working with eachother then and were awesome together 2 months prior at Superbrawl.I thought they were pretty good at Spring Stampede as their bickering was pretty obviously shtick.

One other thing I didn't know was that Nick Dinsmore wrestled a few matches in WCW, he's on the 9/24/98 Thunder against Ernest Miller. What??

One of the gentlemen handing out Cody's paper bags at Vengeance 2011 is Oney Lorcan.

Speaking of 1997, I'm watching Raw, Nitro, and the PPVs from that year in order and if ever there was a case to be made for wrestlers needing a script, it's Bret Hart. The guy's promos were just so long and boring and rambling. You can see him struggling to stay on point and remember what he wants to say and how often he fails at it. It is especially hard because he's verbally sparring with Shawn Michaels who was very good at riffing and going with the flow. Bret didn't stand a chance on the mic.

In Feb 1998, Michael Cole correctly called a corkscrew plancha and now I'm scared.

On SummerSlam 1991, when Big Boss Man and the police are bringing The Mountie through the back, pause at about 1:25:48 and look in that open doorway. I'm fairly sure that's Curt Hennig standing in there (in one of those tracksuits he would wear as Ric Flair's "executive consultant") with Jerry Saggs and Shawn Michaels, who did not have a match or promo on the show.

The Triple H-Chyna relationship is fascinating. She comes in as his bodyguard, but there seems to be more there that isn't really specified. They're together on screen for the better part of 3 years and what their relationship is never really gets defined. She's clearly more than a body guard, but they are also not linked romantically on screen. They have no real resolution to their story either. They just drift apart with no real "break up". Triple H moves into the WWF title scene while Chyna starts going for the IC title. They do have a dust up about Chyna trying to get in on the Summerslam title match, but they are still linked after that. Soon after, Hunter starts his angle and eventual romance with Stephanie while Chyna stays in the IC title scene, starts the angle with Jericho and then the relationship with Eddie. So it's not like the angle with Stephanie really ended Triple H and Chyna's on screen relationship, it already was at its end by then.
Slight side track, watching KOTR 97 and JR asks if Triple H has ever tried to buy the WWF. If only he knew.

So, watching Over the Edge because I'm just burning through that era right now, and I've pointed out before the famous misconception about a red mark on the mat which was from the Brood attack in the pre-show but happened to be in the exact same spot Owen was being attended to. What I've never noticed before is that Undertaker spots it after his entrance and starts visibly crying.

The USWA had a bargain bin Sting rip-off named "Nightmare" Danny Davis (not the same Danny Davis from the WWF).

Tommy Rogers vs Bobby Fulton on Raw in June 1997 is billed as a light heavyweight division match. We're promised to have more speed and athleticism than in usual matches. The match sucked. They weren't all that fast or athletic. You want fast and athletic, I'll take Owen vs HBK any day of the week.
I will say though, WWE certainly treated their light heavyweight division as an after thought, but they still treated it better than WCW treated their women's division. Those ladies got jack. Barely appeared on Nitro, The women's title was defended on PPV all of 3 times and once Madusa retired, the division was basically dead and she wasn't the champion.
Also a underrated aspect of the ECW feud going on at the time was that when ECW guys would show up on Raw, the announcers knew who they were. Vince and JR talking about Sandman and Tommy Dreamer, who it is weird seeing look in such good shape, talk about these guys with familiarity made them look legit and not nobodies no one had heard of.
