Only problem with that is Bret was saying those things well before the sunny days promo. That’s the problem when your doing the exact same thing you call someone else out for they can hit you where it hurts the most. Loses a bit of punch when your argument is "I cheat on my wife all the time, but how dare you say it's with THAT SPECIFIC PERSON!" Bret has trouble understanding why the things he says & does make him look bad to everyone other than himself. Look at Brets book: Other wrestlers do drugs and cheat on their wives =Bad. Bret does drugs and cheats on wife=Hero. The other thing that’s funny to me is the sitdown wwe did with him & shawn a decade ago.Bret admits to talking shit about shawn behind his back but claims he’s just working an angle.Bret calls shawn gay & says he has terrible parents.Shawn confronts Bret about it and asks him to tone it down.Bret says he will but goes even harder on shawn.Shawn confronts him again rinse repeat.Bret was still baffled why shawn would be mad.

Yeah, I remember a few of the cheating stories in his book being like "and then she started..." like he was some passive guy who couldn't do anything about it.

The Sept. 11, 1989 Prime Time Wrestling episode and the WrestleFest '90 Coliseum Video have the same Rockers vs. Hart Foundation match. For some reason, the WrestleFest version is missing most of what aired before the ad break on the Prime Time version but does show footage that didn't air on the Prime Time edit due to that ad break.
The Prime Time airing also has a clip right before the break that shows Bret Hart giving Shawn Michaels an inverted atomic drop, but when they return to the match, they skip past that part and pick up the footage later in the match. The clip has commentary, too, so Tony Schiavone and Alfred Hayes apparently called the part of the match that isn't shown.

Early 97 had something massive going on for all 3 major companies.
Jan: WWF had the Royal Rumble with a crowd of 60,000
Feb: WCW had Superbrawl that was built around a Starrcade rematch of Hogan vs Piper for the WCW title
Mar: WWF had WM 13
Apr: ECW held their very first PPV Barely Legal
Watching all this unfold is so much fun.

ECW November to Remember 1996, Raven vs. Sandman.
Stevie Richards: Raven staying on the left arm with a hammerlock.
Joey Styles: Well, he's better than Eric Bischoff, Tony Schiavone, and Vince McMahon. He knows the names of the holds. He's no Kevin Kelly, though.

Nitro 6/15/98
During the opening match between Public Enemy and Barbarian/Hugh Morrus, Tony says "it's duplex city".

It is only within the last few years that internet opinion about Tony has shifted away from quite similar to Joey's, really. He was a punchline online with a lot of people until a few years ago.

Although, the work that actually made Schiavone a punch line hadn't really happened yet. Most of the vitriol on Schiavone was because he kept using the "greatest night in the history of our sport" combined with demotivation that occurred in dying WCW.

The Dec. 25, 2000 and Jan. 1, 2001 Nitro episodes are rare shows. They only aired outside of the U.S. since TNT showed other programming those two weeks. Both are recaps of 2000 and have the studio voiceover commentary done for the international version of Nitro instead of the original commentary.

This is one of the reasons I find it hard to watch any ECW, Joey is such a snide obnoxious nerd on commentary Because of Joey and his insipid commentary, I thought for a very long time that the huracanrana was a HOO-DAY-COON-RATA. Also, unrelated, but Bobby Heenan thinks his own daughter is a punk kid. On the December 18 1989 PTW, Gorilla wishes Jessica Ida a happy birthday, to which Heenan replies '...punk kid.'

He has a valid point about his daughter being a punk kid as she attacked him on primetime a year earlier at Busch Gardens.

The guy who was Mighty Wilbur in NWA/WCW also had a run in World Class as...Solomon Grundy (hopefully DC Comics never found out about that).

Kane had not just one but TWO feuds over a cup of coffee.
There's the one with Jericho everyone knows about, but apparently his feud with Finlay on 2007 started over spilt coffee as well.

It's a 19th Century nursery rhyme. It might be referencing that instead. Being a big tough guy born out of a swamp would be a great gimmick in USWA... or Southpaw.
