Yes, Daniels was the original choice for the Higher Power. Prichard and Ferrara confirmed this. (Roberts and Dibiase were never considered for the role!) McMahon put the kibosh on it and took the reveal for himself so they recycled it in WCW.

Holy shit, the opening to the Nitro after New Blood Rising is the silliest "worked shoot" stuff to ever exist.

I also forgot that Stevie Richards was on SD for a short while in the summer of 2008.

After watching those WCW on TBS shows for a good while now, I ask myself:
Why is David Crockett considered a bad announcer?
While not the best announcer of all time, he seems to do a decent job and he certainly does not annoy me like some of the other current WWE announcers.
Also seems like one of the few announcers/interviewers with a set of balls, trying to break up fights or, more awesomely, throwing his microphone down in disgust, refusing to interview Jim Cornette and the MX after the former hit Baby Doll with his tennis racket.
Is it just the Wrestlecrap induction that caused most people to lump him in with some of the worst announcers or is there something I oversee about his performance?

Okay, something from 2000 era Nitro got a laugh out of me: In the build-up to Fall Brawl 2000, Jeff Jarrett going out to the parking lot to get a replacement guitar, and just having a cartoonish amount of them stored in the bed of his truck.

How good a show Wrestlemania Rewind was.
Gutted they don't do a short run of new episodes around Wrestlemania season every year.

Another WCW 2000 observation: Mike Sanders was a guy that should have been a manager. Great talker, miserable wrestler.

This early 2000 Kevin Sullivan period was worst than I remembered within his 1st month as Booker there are a nitro and a thunder where Sid has 3 matches on each show. Now I know they didn't have much to work with with the radicalz leaving, sting out and ddp coming up with a career ending injury(that instantly healed when Russo & Bischoff took over)the second Sullivan got the book but Sid wrestling 3 times on a 2 hour show is never the answer and the fact that they did it again a few weeks later really shows how clueless these people were.

King Haku had Lawler's theme first. Harley Race had it before Haku.

But he had pancakes living inside him. I always heard it as "I'M BAKING THE LEMON INSIDE YA" There aren't many things that I need to be true in my life but "MY PANCAKES ARE LIVING INSIDE YOU" needs to be the lyrics to that song or everything to this point in my life has been a lie.
