I'll never forget, Ultramantis was one of the first wrestlers I ever interacted with over Myspace. I asked him about the possibility of replica masks for sale. His reply was "Bela Lugosi is dead". And one of the coolest things I now own is my UMB replica mask from this year's run of masks.

Man I seriously thought the Arcane Horde would win so that he'd use the golden opportunity to win the championship from Hallowicked.
So now what direction does the whole Nazmaldun thing go? Does Fire Ant get the push to free Silver?

I'm glad that I got the two chances to talk to Mantis, albeit briefly, and I got my Mantis mask signed.
I know that this isn't his only poker in the fire with his band, but having the thing you have the most passion for yanked out from under you has to be the most demoralizing feeling in the world.

It's weird that they've kind of grandfathered Eddie Kingston and Jigsaw into being "Gen 1" guys, despite them technically being second class. And hell, Jigsaw didn't even have his debut match in Chikara, he debuted in CZW. |

I met UMB after a show once.
I didn't realize he was staying in kayfabe when he was talking to people at the arena, so I just thanked him for his work and told him I was a fan and he completely dropped kayfabe and thanked me for the support.
He came off as very genuine.
I'm sorry to see him hang 'em up.

I haven't really kept up with Chikara this year due to the COTI being a big ol meh, but that is a huge blow to Chikara. Glad I still have a few of his shirts.

While Im devastated if this is true, one thing we need to keep in mind, is this can also be a possible work
Remember what Delirious said? 2015 would be his end, one way or another. He wasn't specific if it would be him, or how it would be
It sounds like as the year goes on, Mantis is getting more and more worn down to the point he apparently cant compete anymore, and now we have an insane split personality Condron running around with the Killing Chokebreaker.
So... yeah, sucks if he no longer wrestles and this is true, but I'm not ruling out this is also a work for the grand scheme of things...

Double Post: This was my response on another Forum to someone who said they no longer support Kevin Condron because what he did "Went too Far"
And yet like he said, we cheer Oleg, who killed Bakabella, and before that, killed DRAGON DRAGON, one of the most beloved members in the history of CHIKARA Pro Wrestling
When it comes to someone's death we seem to feel what we want to feel based on who it is and the situation even if both crimes are equal. Because Orbit was hidden behind a goofy persona with a Space Helmet, people cheered despite the fact he was aligned with the Flood, it wasn't right what Condron did to him, but it was totally cool for Oleg to kill Bakabella, who Orbit was at this point really no better than in the Rudo Scale. Both served The Flood, both were taken out by different people, and because of that, Oleg is a hero, and Condron is a villain.
The Oleg that got a standing ovation for murdering Sidney Bakabella was ALSO ALLIGNED WITH THE FLOOD, and at that point, not against his will. He killed DRAGON DRAGON by his own accord, and paraded his head around like a trophy, never apologized, never showed sympathy. So quick to forgive a ruthless Viking when he's quirky and funny it seems. Why? Because he just decided to act like a good guy? This is what Condron is talking about, it's not that black and white when it comes to this sort of stuff and how some fans make it out to be.
I think he is right, we are a pretty hypocritical bunch. Really quick to forgive who we love for a cardinal sin but quick to turn on someone because we think they deserve it, says a lot about Society in general really, but as far as CHIKARA is concerned, I've seen it a lot this past year... people dying, people cheering, people dying, people in stunned shock and silence, no one comes to help, and yet the ones who do or try get called fools and the ones who don't continued to get cheers and people act like it doesn't matter or try to give excuses...
CHIKARA to me doesn't have many Tecnico's right now, to me, they are a very hard, and prominent Grey when it comes to the perception of what is right, what is wrong, who is good, and who is evil. Where the heroes are telling you who to boo and people will because they're told despite the fact the Hero has sins of his own. Who is the real villain? Who will die next and how will we react? How will we perceive it? Who will we hate and defend next? Who is finally going to be the straw that breaks the camels back for "Justice"? Because I feel like it's coming to a head very soon...
All in all though, great storytelling, very thought provoking if I do say so myself.
