Seriously, the entire premise (from what I've gathered) is "grandparents are made of concentrated evil!", and... no. That's just... no. I mean, c'mon... "Get in the oven to clean it!"? Really? How dumb would you have to be to think that would work, let alone DO IT?
You know what? I want it to completely throw everyone off, and have the kids be goddamn crazy. Reveal that the grandparents are super sweet and awesome, but the kids have been corrupted by the rock music, and the Tumblrs, and haven't been taking their damn medication... or something. I dunno. I am easily annoyed!

Yknow after being a nurse for a bit over a year, taking care of way too many dementia/sundowning geris, I've seen Mercy, Taking of Deborah Logan and this... none of them really do a terrific job of conveying the specific kind of dangerous madness I've seen (holy crap it's frustrating when you've got an 80-90 yo that's completely bonkers with a broken leg that refuses to stay in bed or is calling you obscenities and trying to attack you when all you're doing is trying to keep them safe until they're the next peoples' problem, and having to constantly manage this situation while not totally neglecting your 4-6 other patients) but this one does an alright job. I enjoyed the movie. I do enjoy the OP as well, I imagine it ending with the dean from Futurama, BlumHOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE!

After reading the plot, it at least sounds like a better movie than it seems in the commercial.

It's Hansel and Gretel.
It's M. Night Shyamalan directing #@%$ing Hansel and Gretel.
Didn't fairy tales get him placed on a restraining order after Lady in the Water?

It does give that vibe that the house is made to be lost in. Shit. I saw the trailer I said to myself, "Who in the f*** would visit two old people in a house that big?". I'm an adult, soon I'll be 40 and I wouldn't do it.

The first previews I saw I thought it look ultra stupid, but now I think it looks like it might be the good kind of stupid. Apparently the acting by the kids is top notch too.

It's been getting some good reviews, surprisingly. It wouldn't be a M. Night film if there wasn't a big twist.

At the very least it looks like Shyamalan isn't trying to be serious with this, and it does look a bit more sillier than his other horror attempts.

Jesus...That was my first thought when I saw the youtube teaser which was literally the get in the oven bit only... how stupid does a kid have to be to actually get into an oven... not be forced in... but literally crawl inside an oven...

I've been trying to remember that fairy tale ever since I first saw the trailers. Eh, nothing wrong with Shyamalan ripping off plot ideas. That's how he got Sixth Sense.

Now I'm curious to see how well this particular marketing campaign goes over in, say, Germany.

The guy has been on such a Prairie View A&M-level losing streak that I'm actually rooting for him this time around.
