Post moments where the announcer be it Play by Play or Color guy had a terrible call on some big moment.
First off the quintessential version of the topic is Joe Buck being Joe Buck with the Flee to Tyree Helmet catch.
One of the all time great plays and Joe Buck don't give a shit. In fact he sounds annoyed.
Also Gary Thorne ruining a goal call in game 7 of the ECF in 2003

Are we including bad MMA announcing as well? Because there is one GLARING moment from 2010 that would fit here.

Joe calling the final play that clinched the 2005 World Series for the White Sox sounded like one of those robo-calls.
Meanwhile on the radio, then-Sox broadcaster John Rooney damn near pissed himself in exhilaration.

I'm a big Gus fan, and actually didn't mind his MMA commentary but that was....yikes.

I don't mind Joe Buck now but I'll agree wholeheartedly that from about 2002 through roughly 2009, he was absolutely terrible. No excitement, no emotion, nothing. Granted, not every play needs a Gus Johnson "OOOOOHHHH! OOOOOHHHH!", but Buck undersold huge moments in sports for basically a decade.
One of his more notable terrible calls was the final out of the 2007 World Series: "Game over, series over, and the Red Sox are world champs again," he said with zero emotion, reacting like the waiter brought him soup instead of a salad.

Joe Buck has had some pretty bad calls over the years, especially the ends of the World Series in 2005 and 2007, and the big moments in Super Bowl 42. And then there was almost anything he said during the 2011 World Series. I don't know if something was wrong with him, but he sounded like death. Not to mention it reeks of shameless pandering anytime he steals his father's signature lines. Gary Thorne's call when the Orioles beat the Red Sox on the last day of the 2011 season was great... except he said "right field" on a ball hit to left field. Sorry, but you can't get that wrong. Whoever called Philip Humber's 2012 perfect game on White Sox radio totally butchered the final out. The Mariners' broadcasters did a much better job and their team lost. "Philles are world champions..." - Joe "Roboforehead" Buck
Not that I was listening to him though, had the Phillies broadcast team on lol. I don't think I heard this call until a few weeks ago actually just out of sheer curiosity.

Like when a team wins the title he just says it so normal talk tone. I know that most of the reason why he where he is at because who his dad was and I love his dad. But the difference is his dad was one of the best announcers in sports history and he didn't carry that on. Joe is average at best at calling sports. He had the knowledge and you think he learned more about calling it from his dad. His dad was like you want to mute the Cardinals game on TV and turn the radio on and let that be the announcing because a lot of times he was always better then the TV guys.
