First game of the tournament hosts England v Fiji just kicked off so thought I'd make this thread.
Anyone here a Rugby fan? Not a massive fan though love watching international Rugby so will enjoy the next 6 weeks.

I'm a pretty big rugby fan. Catch the occassional Falcons game and never miss international games. Nowhere near my love of football but it's pretty high up in my list of favourite sports. England should win this easily. The real tests will be Australia and Wales.

Really looking forward to the Australia and Wales games the atmosphere for those will be immense. And it's only the group stage!
England just scored a try 8-0 atm and cruising.

What's the deal with feeding scrums seemingly being allowed these days? I thought that was against the rules?
As you can tell I'm not the biggest rugby fan.

I'd love England to win it all, but I think the All Blacks would be the favourites.

I'd love England to win it all, but I think the All Blacks would be the favourites. All Black's are damn near unstoppable. We tend to come up big in World Cup's though (2011 notwithstanding). That 2007 group had no right to get as close to that WC as they did. And damn it, we could've won it. Would've been the biggest upset in RWC history and probably the most blindingly rugby-esque thing ever too. Men so clearly over the hill but just refusing to accept it and bullying their way to retaining the World Cup. Hopefully we have a good run this time but our group is pretty difficult. Wales are far from full strength but they're not going to be pushovers. Getting through the Group Stage should still be considered an achievement.

I'm a massive Rugby League fan, don't really like Union at all.
But I've just had a bet on South Africa to win the World Cup so I'll now be watching their progress with some interest.

South Africa finding it tough against Japan 12-10 the score at half time. Georgia picked up a surprise win earlier over Tonga. Ireland, unsurprisingly, heavily defeated Canada.
And Japan beat South Africa 34-32 thanks to an injury time try. Amazing.

Entered the ballot for World Cup tickets last year and South Africa v Japan was one of the games I tried to get tickets for (due to the cheapest tickets being £20 and Brighton being a half hour drive from where I live). Shame I didn't get tickets for it what an incredible game.

Japan beating South Africa is the biggest upset I've ever seen in rugby. I would go one further and say sport in general. Amazing by the Japanese.

That Japan South Africa match might have been the greatest match in rugby world cup history. The drama of it was incredible

Damn I only caught the last twenty minutes or so but Japan were amazing. Going for the win instead of taking the draw took balls and I'm so glad that paid off for them.

That's an almighty upset right there. Almost certainly the biggest in the history of the tournament.
