Bull is gorgeous. She was always beautiful (stop judging me), but wow, she looks excellent here. She and Akira Hokuto were confusingly sexy to me as a 10 year old.

... Monster Ripper aka Bertha Faye was successful in Joshi. Monster Ripper's not American Yeah, I just saw your post after I posted mine. I could argue that being from Canada means she is North American, but I'll admit I was wrong. Debbie Malenko was another successful one there during the height of the Joshi promotional wars.

Speaking of Bull and Akira I just found this. Two legends. With two old women. Edit: Seriously, the check of that pimp Moolah to wear that belt as if it actually has any value at all next to theirs!

Yeah, even though technically incorrect she fits the spirit of the question, which is why I mentioned her as well. The rest of your post was spot on though.

Wasn't Madusa herself fairly big over there for a time? She even cut a pop record while she was staying there.

Sadly I think while she was good it sort of showed when she was on that incredible Big Egg Universe event that she wasn't quite in their league.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNuU9W5gYUYHard to imagine it's the same sweet lady. The power and agility displayed, wowza. I also love touches like her being able to hold the Scorpion Crosslock with one hand long enough to comb her own hair back and then tug on Alundra's viciously with a smile on her face.

Glad to see them looking so good after so long. And I agree, I think they'd still be able to go in the ring, _and_ put on a clinic for the Divas.

Awesome to see this. Definitely two people I would consider to be legends. I just wish that more people in this country could be introduced to the style of wrestling those women had in Japan. Amazing the amount of talent in Japan at that time.
Both women look simply amazing.

Madusa was big over there, she was with AJW for three years and the first American female to sign an actual contract with them as opposed to the 6 weeks tours the women were sent on by Moolah in the 70's and 80's. They made pop videos, pop songs, kind of made her into a Crush Girls type pop idol which was dying out in the early 1990's version of AJW. Wrestling wise she wasnt a good of a worker as Debbie Malenko, but she improved massivley from the AWA which she came from to when she left. She had big feuds with Chigusa Nagoyo, Lioness Asuka, Aja Kong and then later turned heel to join Kong's heel faction. Hate to breakup the Nakano/Madusa lovefest but lost in this is that Akira Hokuto has breast cancer. I hope she recovers from that. It also would explain why Kensuke suddenly retired last year.

I don't think it was "lost" as much as it wasn't really the topic of the thread. I feel for her though and wish her a speedy recovery. She's a legend.

Bull Nakano was a beautiful woman even in the 90's with all the scary paint and hair. They had to make her look like a monster or she could have never been cast as a heel.

They have both aged fantastically. The benefits of aging naturally?
