Most of those have terrible faces and the bodies are all too ripped. I still prefer the Jakks figures. The Jakks are far worse than Mattel, the scale is off, everyone looks ripped even Big Show and Finlay and Khali. Mattel has made figures that are on the large side and it looks good like Earthquake, Kamala, Bam Bam Bigelow, Bray Wyatt, Akeem. Plus Jakks figures have balloon head You're not getting an argument from me on that. That's all completely true. However, I don't think the scale of the new line is better either. And they have fallen into having the same body mold cliches that Jakks did. And if the scales aren't perfect, and the molds are recycled, then they are just jakks but with worse faces.

You just compared a Basic to a Basic. Your argument is irrelevant. No, my point was that a Basic level figure is going to have only a certain amount budgeted for details, and the new Edge figure probably had to choose between tattoos or wristbands to stay on budget, and they choose wristbands, compared to a previous Edge that had tattoos but no wristbands. But eh, just trying to make sense of the glaring lack of the tattoos that Edge has had forever now.

Every CM Punk, Orton, and Batista Basic to date has had their tattoos, albeit they're not in full color, but they're there at least. Maybe this is just an oversight on the prototype of Edge.

One would think they would've come up with a better way to do chest hair. Hall looks more like he's been passed out shirtless in a fraternity than oozing machismo.

Chest hair and facial stubble have always been an issue. Either they don't do it at all, do it so sloppy it looks awful, or try sculpting it making it look even worse. I can cite good and bad examples of this over the past 20+ years of wrestling action figures: Good examples: Scott Hall (WCW Toy Biz) Bad examples: Every Chris Benoit figure ever produced.

I'd break down and buy the Bayley one. I believe I can make the Mrs. a fan. She already wants the shirt.

When I was a kid and booked my World Wrestling Figure Federation (the WWFF), I'd use a washable red felt tip pen, to simulate blood on my wrestling figures.
Flair bled almost as much as he did in real life.
