The first meeting between the Clippers and the Mavs, ends with the Clippers winning by almost 20. Blake had a big game.

It begins. The league confirms that small ads for KIA will appear on the front of both this year and next year's All-Star Game jerseys. And the NBA may as well be a glorified rec league at this point. Better than the WNBA teams wearing team sponsor logos on their jerseys instead of the actual team names.

And the NBA may as well be a glorified rec league at this point. So bush league. Adam Silver in March 2014 said ads on jerseys were 'inevitable', so it was only a matter of time, especially since the most recent uniform redesign moved the Swingman logo to the back neckline and left a billboard's worth of space on the collar above the team name on the chest. As long as it's not too garish and the companies aren't too absurd (no male enhancement companies, please and thank you), I guess I can live with it, but it's an awfully regressive step for the NBA to be the first major American professional sports league to essentially sell ad space on uniforms. That can't be a good sign for the association's finances, that they're maximizing every dollar possible by selling the jersey.

Looks like Brooklyn will be battling Philly for the top draft pick next year.

Former Indiana Pacers legend Mel Daniels died yesterday at the age of 71. He had attended the home opener against Memphis a day prior.
I'm just glad he was able to get the acknowledgement he deserved and got into the Hall of Fame.

Wednesday is the first preview of my pick for the Western Conference Finals, I'm really going out on a limb, Warriors vs Clippers.

But to be fair, any corporation tries to maximize profit, and the NBA is no different Very true, but they're still the first major American professional sports league to do such a thing. Remember back in 2004 when Major League Baseball tried to put ads for "Spider-Man 2" on the bases? The vitriol from fans was so overwhelming that within a day they reversed course. And outside of Big Tobacco, there may be no more soulless a corporation than the National Football League, yet they've never stooped to stitching ads on uniforms. I just think this is a bad look for the NBA's finances, that they need to plaster advertisements on uniforms in order to make a buck. As I said, if it's just one small patch on the collar, I'm fine with it, but I have concerns that the players will eventually resemble NASCAR vehicles because they'll have so many corporate logos all over their bodies.

Now I want to see Blake Griffin in a jersey with a giant Arby's logo on it slamming a thunder dunk over a stooge in a McDonald's logo

Since it's the NBA season, I've got to post something. It's for those that remember and those that never experienced NBA on NBC
And I've got to post it, the last thing they aired.

The Warriors have achieved basketball nirvana, good lord. They were lapping Memphis tonight; they led 88-44 in the third at one point.
