Just saw the episode as it was leaked slightly early; my score and spoilers await. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Final score for Hootfields and McColts is... 6/10. Some good payoff for Flutter's connection with animals, and the use of a third party that was being hurt by the feud is a nice change of pace.
However, some small gags here and there nothing really stood out. Twilight and Fluttershy don't have anti-chemistry, but their dynamic wasn't as fun ore amusing as RariJack's or PinkieDash's respective outings.
Moreover both sets of Smoking Mountains ponies weren't particularly interesting, and the overall story of feuding groups felt like it was done in more interesting fashion (even with all its problems) in Over a Barrel.
An improvement over last week, but definitely the weakest of the Cutie Map Pairing trilogy. |
