Then what happens?
I could very easily see this being a possibility somewhere down the line. The dude has an insane work ethic. Although I doubt WWE wants to keep pushing him FOREVER and there are certainly some young hosses already gunning for his spot.
I'm thinking he'd probably be the marquee name of some big number 2 startup. Or maybe if GFW got off the ground then maybe them? TNA is a non-factor at this point and for some reason I just don't see him going to Japan.
Although as for what I'd like I think Cena would be MONEY with that long awaited heel turn...in ROH.

Cena's always come across as a WWE Mark and not a pro wrestling Mark. He'd probably marry Nikki before he'd step foot in another promotion. So I think IF he had had a falling out with Vince, he'd probably just go make movies.

I think if he quietly leaves for a while after jobbing clean to ADR, after a year of working with lower-tier guys, he's probably not as against time away as he once would have been.

When Cena leaves WWE, on good terms or not, I think he'll focus on acting and his fitness training "brand".

Cena seems like someone who would use his WWE attained wealth to start up his own promotion so that he can wrestle forever.

Cena loves WWE but if that were the case I can see him getting into movies as he has natural charisma. He wouldn't become as big as the rock obviously but then again I never thought Batista would reach the role he has attained.

His dad bought a sattelite dish in the 80's specifically so their house could pickup TBS for Jim Crockett/NWA, a Texas station so they could watch World Class, and ESPN so they could watch AWA. And he also watched the WWF. I'm sure John could rattle off Von Erich trivia in his sleep.

I wouldn't even surprised if he wasn't a network subscriber. I'm not suggesting the guy isn't a fan or just clocks in and out. But the impression I've always gotten from Cena was that WWE was his religion and that he worshipped at the altar of McMahon.

Keep the same theme but double-time the drums and smooth out those trumpets with some synth goodness.

I always wondered what would have happened if Cena went to TNA in say...2013. When they were still and Spike and before the mass exodus of talent. What would the difference be? Would the biggest name in wrestling be enough to get TNA to a 2.0?

Cena calls it quits at that point or Vince gives him a 16th World Title as a send-off.

I could see him popping up in Japan, maybe, for a few matches, but that he'd probably be hesitant to leave WWE entirely due to the Make A Wish opportunities that it affords him, in addition to of course money, a viewer base that is unrivaled, and working with friends like Orton and Big E. I could see him acting, too, but I don't really know what else he'd do, and sometimes I think he doesn't, either.

I love the guy, he's been fantastic but it's time for him to move on.

I think he's a lifer. Hell go until he's not able to, maybe taking a few breaks for movies aND smaller outside ventures, but I think he's going to transition to an office role of some sort when he can't go anymore. As stale as he became before a bunch of people lightened up on him with the US Title run, I don't think he'll do Japan tours if it doesn't benefit him in the long run, and we're well past that time. The ideal time would have been if they could have bartered with NJPW for a talent exchange, which would have gotten him a shit load of publicity, some time away from main WWE and fresh opponents.

Tyson Kidd: Yeah, but if he can't rattle off Inoki trivia in his sleep then what is the point of talking to him even.

Stop perpetuating the myth that John Cena isn't terrible, we're supposed to hate him here. This is the internet, we don't like things.
