I have nothing to add except for expressing my amusement that Gene Roddenberry named his son Rod.

That's pretty cool. A shaky new peace with the klingons, the height of the Federation-Romulan cold war, the ferengi are still dangerous pirates with ships that can come up against Starfleet's heavy hitters and win, first contact and war with the cardassians, lots of cool stuff going on in that time period.

Been updated to say Which is interesting... but most Star Trek shows took at least a season before establishing their characters fully... But setting it pre-Next Gen at least means we won't have to deal with the Borg who have been done to death at this point

But setting it pre-Next Gen at least means we won't have to deal with the Borg who have been done to death at this point Even though I'm not sure I'll watch the new show, thank god that there will be no more Borg. Once the greatest, legitimately scariest antagonists Star Trek ever had, and by the end of Voyager and almost every damn game or multimedia platform, they just make you roll your eyes.

I just want Riker and his mustache traveling the universe, scoring intergalactic poontang and at the end of the first episode he finds a new traveling buddy, Lando. Their 5 Year Mission is to spread their Human DNA around the galaxy all over every hot alien species they find.

I wonder if it'll eventually move to TV in reruns

The anthology idea makes me think there might be different creative teams for each season depending on their era...Myer for Undiscovered Country stuff for this one, maybe DS9 veterans can be brought in for things pertaining to the Dominion War era.
Is Moore up to anything right now?

"New Crews", looks like there might be some truth to the anthology rumors.
