Personally I say they should do a hundred years or so after TNG / DS9 / Voyager, but doesn't seem likely. Somewhat ironic that a series about looking toward the future in recent years keeps moving backwards. Agreed. The TOS-to-TNG era is a relatively small time period in the greater scheme of things and the more everything is based in that era, the greater difficulty there is to come up with something new. If it's set prior to TNG, can you really introduce any alien threat that can be a bigger big-bad than the Borg that suddenly wouldn't be a concern or worth even the occasional mention in all the shows that would follow after chronologically? It's too confining, too much has already been mapped out. Bump it up a bit like you said, give us something new.

The Klingons should have the ridges. It was always dumb of Enterprise to devote several episodes to some meaningless shit that Deep Space Nine dealt with with a wink and nod.

Honestly in general I'm really hoping Discovery is good but most every bit of news is making me go, "Nngh, do we have to do this?" Doesn't really help that it's four months from launch and we really only barely know anything about it, when you would think this is when they'd be ramping up hype and starting to have it come together.

If Discovery is delayed, how is CBS all Access is going to go by as far as first run content are Concerned? Celeberty Big Brother?

Word coming out that the show's been pushed back to late summer or early fall.
Yeah, I'm hoping to like it but I'm positive this show's going to be a trainwreck.

Has there been any confirmation about whether this is Prime or Kelvin or some third timeline?
Agreed that it looks very Abramsverse/Kelvin
I hate how the Klingons look in this, but overall I like the feel of the trailer
I also would still have much perferred a series set after DS9/Voyager than another prequel

So, was the Jason Isaacs casting not an actual thing? I'd really prefer him over Michelle Yeoh.
