I'm sorry, but I feel like Meltzer might have been fed a line of BS here. I mean, we know HHH has a huge ego, but even he would have to see how god awful an idea that would be. Not to mention that it follows the same fairy tale horror story we've seen with Triple H time and time again. Evolution lost every match with the Shield, with the exception of Seth getting counted out against Batista after a failed dive, Triple H has won like, one match in years I can even remember, and that was with him losing every single encounter with Brock outside of one, in which it was painted as basically a fluke. Triple H has an ego, but I think people can let their hate boner for the guy cloud their perception sometimes. Though even when Trips loses, he usually wins, or at least gets the last laugh and/or looks stronger. I mean, did anyone else kill Lesnar's mystique as much as he did during their feud. Despite Lesnar winning in the end, it took him breaking the streak to look convincingly strong as he did when he first returned after that. Plus don't get me started on the whole Sting thing...

I'm going to the Rumble and I love trips but I'd boo.

Evolution losing matches to the SHIELD ultimately meant nothing. Seth betrayed the SHIELD. HHH smiled and nodded and said it was all part of his plan.
So HHH won the feud.

Evolution lost to the Shield but Rollins broke the Shield up, joined the Authority, became champion and has been under Triple H and Stephanie's foot the entire time. If anybody beats Triple H guaranteed it makes Triple H look good. Either he's part of their future somehow or that wrestler becomes literally a god in the company, that's just how it is.
And honestly, Ambrose/Reigns I can see but let me question this...who was going to be heel? Even if Reigns is getting more popular there's no way he's going to be out-cheering Dean Ambrose at Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas. No absolute way.
They either have major faith in Ambrose being the biggest heel since Triple H circa 99 or Reigns would have been the heel, maybe they're stupid again.

Part of me says that Trips vs. Rollins was going to happen eventually. And that Vince & Co. are stupid enough to have it go down just like Meltzer says.
Another part of me says that it's awfully convenient that Dave is releasing this info now, when there's no chance it can happen, and it can't be proven right or wrong.
And yet another part of me hates myself for even caring.

I gotta give props for them giving Ambrose a major match. I've been telling people for the longest time that he's loved and the company values him but honestly people didn't see it, now looking at this and seeing Rollins is out I gotta say this might be the matches.
If those are the biggest matches and Rollins is out then it's just a matter of who steps up to take Rollins place and who's the future champion...let's think of the top 3 matches.

I'll give you Sting, I completely forgot it even, but I don't think Lesnar lost mystique in the slightest, I just think beating Undertaker took him into the "might as well be supernatural" territory. They booked him like a monster heel before, now he's a T-Rex in MMA shorts.

I do want another (brief) Triple H title reign at some point, but ideally it'd be 1), as a heel, and 2), just to advance someone else's story.
This? Every part of this idea is awful. Triple H turning face, Triple H winning the Rumble, Rollins holding the belt until Mania, the Ambrose / Reigns thing, all of it.

HHH vs Rollins is a match I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to but I don't think I want it like that.

HHH vs Rollins is a match I am SERIOUSLY looking forward to but I don't think I want it like that. Yeah, I don't, either. Only potential benefit of a face Triple H would just be to put more heat on Rollins for beating him but it probably wouldn't work out that way.

It's almost beautiful how stupid WWE is. Like I'm in awe honestly. I can just picture the post Rumble win "wink wink" promo at the fans. "Oh you didn't like that?" The words entitlement and whining will get thrown around a lot. People online would side with WWE because complainers don't respect the vision of the company. Like I know it seems almost too ludicrous to do, but it's modern WWE. I fully expect another disaster of a Royal Rumble in 2016 but this time the fans won't have anyone to rally for, and there will be no fanbase for the company to blame like this year's "Oh it's just those damn Daniel Bryan fans who are upset" instead of noting how horribly booked things are.

Only potential benefit of a face Triple H would just be to put more heat on Rollins for beating him but it probably wouldn't work out that way. Plus face Triple H would bring face Stephanie, and she's even more of an obnoxious, unpleasant harpy as a face than she is as a heel. And it'd make zero sense for us to be expected to root for Triple H over Rollins. Rollins is the one who's constantly kissing up to him and yet being treated like shit for it, Rollins is the one being run down for daring to ever even compare himself to Triple H, and Triple H is the one who orchestrated his heel turn and has spent the past two years running down all the people the fans love. He makes zero sense as a face on any level.

Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on the "for the belt, as a face" part. I have no problem seeing those three as being the planned top three matches, but Ambrose/Reigns would almost certainly have been for the belt, with Rollins/HHH starting after Rollins loses the title, and HHH goes after him for being a loser. No f***ing way that even WWE is that stupid to try having HHH turn face and win the Rumble in 20-goddamn-16.

If they thought that Batista and Reigns got shit on by the fans, just imagine what HHH winning would do. Might be the first mass garbage throwing in WWE in a decade. This f***ing company sometimes. How on earth they think these stories are good are beyond me. What are they doing? Actively trying to become WCW? Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on the "for the belt, as a face" part. I have no problem seeing those three as being the planned top three matches, but Ambrose/Reigns would almost certainly have been for the belt, with Rollins/HHH starting after Rollins loses the title, and HHH goes after him for being a loser. No f***ing way that even WWE is that stupid to try having HHH turn face and win the Rumble in 20-goddamn-16.Yeah, they really are.

I think turning Seth face is dumber than H winning the Rumble. There is nothing likable about Seth's character at all. Why would I want to cheer him unironically?
EDIT: Or Hunter as the face, WINNING THE RUMBLE? That would be three Rumbles in a row of bad babyface characters winning it.

Considering this is the same company that thought Randy Orton vs. Batista was an acceptable main event for Mania 30, I'm not so sure. At least on paper, Orton/Batista doesn't look completely stupid. They've both been top guys in the company for years, to where the #2 and #3 guys for the past decade had mostly been the two of them, plus Batista was making his return, with him getting extra attention for being in a major role in an upcoming summer blockbuster. On paper, it doesn't look too bad, it's just that how hot Bryan got made it so stupid that they tried to stick with it. HHH/Rollins, for the title, with HHH as face, at Wrestlemania, in 2016 has no justification. At all. On paper, it is a completely idiotic idea. I give WWE shit on pretty much a daily basis, but even I don't think that they are this stupid.
