I don't understand how they were booked so perfectly from start to finish. I mean I know everything can't be amazing but it's so far removed from the majority of the nonsense that has been delivered since it's just mind boggling. In interviews they've all mentioned that whenever they were approached with an angle or outcome they didn't agree with, all 3 would stand together and say no to it. They also confronted Vince to his face and told him what they were and weren't gonna do. For example, they were suppose to lose to the Ryback/Sheamus/Cena team at Elimination Chamber in 2013 but they all realized that they wouldn't be any different than Nexus or any other heel that went up against Cena and lost and told Vince it was a stupid idea. All three wanted to be something different than the shitty factions we'd seen the past 10 years.

I'll always be proud that my 21st birthday coincided with the debut of one of the greatest stables in WWE history Plus it was when Dean Ambrose proved that he actually did exist

Honestly, the thing I remember the most from the Shield debuting was this board realizing that Ambrose actually existed.
For those not around or don't remember, Ambrose was set to debut months earlier against Foley (#thanksmick) but the storyline was dropped (I believe because Mick couldn't pass the physical). So everybody was wondering when he would actually debut. And it was taking so long that people began saying that Ambrose was just a fever dream of the IWC, spawned by the greatness of the CM Punk/Daniel Bryan matches of that year. IIRC, the thread about Ambrose being a fever dream popped up a day or two before he debuted, so when he did debut, a lot of people in the Survivor Series thread went, "OMG he actually exists!", myself included.

All three wanted to be something different than the shitty factions we'd seen the past 10 years. Thank God. I was so shocked when they won. I think I still have an AIM Chat log of a chat with people on the board where everyone (including me) was saying how predictable the Cena/Ryback/Sheamus win was. I mean those three (Ryback at the time, too) CONSTANTLY just ran over everyone. It was amazing when they won, and just kept winning. WM 29, The Undertaker, etc...and clean too for the most part. Of course if any of them went up against the mighty God known as John Cena on their own, they stood no chance, but as a stable they were booked amazingly. I still think they were ended too early. It sucks looking back at the end of 2013 and realizing that CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and The Shield as a group are all gone. I mean all five of those guys guaranteed a good match every night. I think it was Bootytime that once predicted in a chat or thread that "The Shields match will be amazing and the rest of the show will suck", and I'm sure he was right...

If they'd stayed that way, then Roman clinging to the gimmick post-breakup as a Samoan beat poet who punches people would have led to a new boom period. His matches would all end like this BEST POST IN FORUM HISTORY I mark for Home Movies. Anyway, much as I can't stand Roman as a solo act and think Rollins must be a dick given his white supremacist lady friend, The Shield are undoubtedly the greatest stable of post-Attitude WWE and one of he best in history. Amazing booking in an era of terrible booking, great matches, meaningful losses and a breakup that had genuine ramifications. Just great stuff.

Lol to think that CM Punk pitched Chris Hero as a member of the shield lol. What could've been I think that Ohno would've been fine on his own if his body hadn't crapped out on him. Putting Roman with Seth and Dean is the epitome of hiding your weaknesses by capitalizing on your strengths.

Meh, one of the most cringeworthy memes I've seen on this board (along with "cutting onions" for crying, which comes from somewhere else admittedly, but still..MEH!) Ontopic: didn't watch Survivors 2012 live because of the mediocre lineup and blandness, but I was happy as hell to see that those guys debuted in such a huge angle. And off they went to become one of the greatest stables/groups ever!

God its crazy how far these three have come in only three years. Imagine where we'd be right now if The Shield never happened.

Lol to think that CM Punk pitched Chris Hero as a member of the shield lol. What could've been I would have liked to have seen cesaro, hero and steen as shield 2.0. Also would have liked to have seen a masked member wearing a balaclava type mask. I think i will make this happen in 2k16.

My first response was "wait, it's only been 3 years??"
They were so well booked, and did so much in a short span that it felt like they were together much longer (at least in my head).
I guess splitting them up while they still had plenty of mileage left is a good thing, it'll make for a badass reunion instead of 3 guys who did everything they could and then got back together later to "i guess do some more". This way, going out as strong as they did, when they reunite it'll be more impactful on whatever feud they happen to go into.

It was amazing to me how they had them dominate in two Wrestlemania matches, leaving all three of them at 2-0 and then had all three of them lose this year.

I'll never forget when a poster here tried doing the whole Sierra Hotel etc thing but goofed up and had bravo in there instead of Lima and birthed the SHIEBD. Found it.I think the mass responses in regards to his error scared him off the board permanently. Unless the poster changed his name, he hasn't been around since 2013. Long live the Shiebd!
