It's an occasional point of conversation, could the best team in a college sport (usually football or basketball) defeat the worst team in the pros? Usually it comes up when the worst team in the pro league is especially bad. I get the argument that the pro team, while bad, is bigger, faster, and stronger too, and that the college team is still just kids. But there's one current argument that's intriguing. Kentucky might not be THE best team in college basketball, but they are one of the best and have highly touted recruits. Basically my point is, much of Kentucky's team is made of freshmen that would've gone straight to the NBA if they were allowed to. So essentially Kentucky is led by pro players. So why wouldn't they have some realistic chance at beating a pro team? Especially one like the 76ers, where the team is so bad, the players barely count as pros themselves.

College? Probably not.
A D-League team beating the Sixers? I could see that.

The ONLY time I have ever believed a college team could beat a pro team would have been Wooden's UCLA dynasty against that 9-73 76ers team of 1972-73

As of this moment, Philadelphia 76ers Team Captain Nerlens Noel, if he were to have stayed in school all four years, would currently be the senior Center for Kentucky (and presumably also their team captain.)
...that single fact, even without the other top college names a team like Philadelphia would get through years of ineptitude, should say it all for "could Kentucky beat the '76ers?".

While they couldn't beat them, someone from Kentucky will end up on the 76'ers.

Nope, it's not just the fact they're bigger, stronger, and faster. There's the style of play, they play a faster more complicated game. Also every single player on the Sixers is good enough to make the NBA, you can't say that about Kentucky.
Kentucky's not led by pro players. They've got guys that could have went to the Draft, but they're not pro players. They haven't been in pro practice or pro games, they haven't played the pro game, much less gotten used to it. They're not used to the shot clock, they're not used to the difference of time, and they're not used to the style of game the Sixers would throw at them.
So the Sixers are bigger, stronger, faster, deeper in talent, and are used to a completely different level of basketball. The Sixers would win by double digits.

As laughable as they appear to be, the Philadelphia 76ers are losing to fellow NBA competition. They would OBLITERATE the Kentucky Wildcats.

The 76'ers would look like the Globetrotters against Kentucky

Generally in any instance, no.
Particularly in your stated case where it'd be a buncha eighteen year olds going against grown men.
