They've been moved to the Prime 4:25 afternoon game (Pats/Eagles) Real punishment would be NOT having them work at all this weekend, which would be best given that they have a history of ridiculous calls and buffoonery I 100% agree but after the Fail Mary fiasco, the NFL caved and I don't think they have the ability or the resources to drop a whole crew for any period of time. That's on the league for letting it get to that point to begin with. There shouln't have ever been a ref lockout to begin with, and then as a result of it, they got bent over by the refs once the replacement ones got really bad. Though to my last point, are the current refs *really* that much worse than the replacement ones?

Vikings might be my current NFC pick. The Panthers are undefeated but they've got most of their wins against the AFC South(which is some shit), the NFC East(which is worse than shit), and the NFC South(which is mediocre at best), combine that with some wins versus a Seattle team that isn't what it once was, and a Packers team that seems to be pretty pedestrian and I'm not sold on them at all. It won't surprise me if they're legit and go deep, but it also won't surprise me if they are one and done in the playoffs. It's hard to say against that wack-assed schedule. That's almost the easiest schedule in history. Is this going to be your analysis of the Panthers every week? Seems like I've read it for 3 weeks straight.... Okay. How about some dialogue about why the Panthers are legit and how I'm wrong instead of basically saying "I don't like your opinion, stop giving it". I'm a pretty fair poster and will give any team their due once they've earned it, but right none of us(myself included) knows what to make of them right now. All great teams need to face some adversity so that we know what they're made of, and to this point Carolina has faced little if any against a weak schedule. We'll know for sure one way or another in the playoffs when they will(most likely) face capable opposition, but until then the jury is out.

I just find it hilarious how there is a "new" team to beat in the NFC every week that just happens to not be the undefeated team... It started out as the Packers were unstoppable, then the Cardinals, now it's the Vikings....just random observations I have....

I think Carolina is good. I even think they're very good. That said, there's just *something* I don't trust about them in a big game, and I'll be perfectly honest....I can't quite put my finger on it

In an update, Josh McCown is officially out for the remainder of the year with a broken clavicle. Now we see who is really in charge in Cleveland...

Goodell would be screaming bloody murder if these refs were the replacement refs from a few years back

On Lebatard's show yesterday he said that Dolphins management thinks Tannehill is a better QB then Cam or Carson and its the coaches fault why he is playing terrible.
This is why they never be a top team again

The odds are pretty good that bad officiating is going to be directly responsible for at least one playoff games outcome this year. The officiating gets worse as more tocky tacky rules get put into the league.
The NFL cant get out of their own way

Patriots claimed RB Trey Williams off waivers from the Cowboys.
Cardinals placed RB Chris Johnson (broken leg) on injured reserve/designated to return.

NFL is actually punishing a ref crew this week. The crew from Cards/Niners lost their prime time gig and is waiting a new assignment. And, what a surprise, they were reassigned to the Eagles at Patriots game. Which means for the third straight week, I'll have to watch my team try to play and win a game around a group of referees who are tripping over their own incompetence. I should note that wasn't a "the refs are trying to screw the Patriots!" comment more than it was a "I'm fed up with having to watch game after game in which these moron officials clearly have no idea what they're doing and are quite possibly making it up as they go." You can almost sense it coming, that a playoff game or quite possibly the Super Bowl is going to be decided by a hideous decision by a referee. This wave of poor officiating hasn't even crested yet. Some team and fan base is going to get hosed in January or February and the league is going to do nothing but shrug their shoulders and say, "we'll look into it."

The guess is that if there was only one game influenced this year that would be great for the NFL.

Is it a stupid rule? Yes, but it was the correct call.

I know, but the way they botched the original call and the subsequent replay is what made it controversial. I agreed with the overturned call as much as the rule sucks. So... anyone want to drown their sorrows with this 49ers fan? I would say Browns fans, but I can feel a healthy beatdown coming this Sunday from them.

Nah, at this point, the Browns would rather play Jerry "Lightfoot" McGee instead of Manziel. Can't blame them, even though last night was arguably the most Cleveland Brownsish ending to a football game you can imagine.
