Weird as shit hearing Paul Bearer do commentary. A smiling, blonde, happy-go-lucky Paul Bearer at that.

I don't remember Marc Lowrance in uswa? He left shortly after the switch, maybe six months in. If I recall correctly he went full time as a minister.

Holy crap he's terrible. He's not funny, has absolutely no sense of timing and generally looks like an amorphous talking thumb. I would take a show called by 2015 Jerry Lawler, Mongo and the "slap the porpoise" guy from ROH on HDNet over that guy.

Kinda sad watching this episode. Akbar, Percy, Angel of Death, Billy Joe Travis, Chris Adams-all gone.

Paul Bearer getting the best of Steve Austin in a fist fight, now that is something you don't see everyday.

USWA Dallas (after about spring 1990) became part of the GWF syndication package.
Marc Lowrance ended up bailing on them because of the content of the shows, and the direction that Eric Embry hadtaken the shows. If you watch the shows now, you'll notice that even WWE Network censors some of the content. I'm not sure yet if they include the John Tatum superkick on Tessa, which was reportedly the one outrageous segment that prompted KTVT to finally cancel their weekly show for good.

The show that was canceled in 1990 was the long running Championship Sports, the 2-hour program that only aired on KTVT. WWE Network shows episodes of USWA Challenge, the 1-hour syndicated show that aired all over the country and was previously called World Class Championship Wrestling. I'm not sure if WWE even has access to CS. Reportedly, CS's master tapes were used over and over again when Fritz Von Erich was in charge since they were only seen locally. That might have changed after Jerry Jarrett bought the company in late-1988, and CS tapings were moved to Dallas on Saturday mornings (following the Friday night tapings in the same building for the syndicated show). If you watch the Challenge episodes on WWE Network, some of the angles that get recapped (Matt Borne slapping Chris Von Erich, Bill Dundee handcuffing John Tatum, Skandor Akbar burning Jeff Jarrett) actually took place on CS.

USWA Challenge was KTVT content that was repackaged for national syndication. Once KTVT cancelled the local show around September 1990, USWA Dallas was dead. Kevin Von Erich tried to bring back World Class at the Sportatorium the same month, but didn't last more than about a month or so, because he couldn't get a TV deal.

CS was its own show with exclusive matches and angles. During the heyday of World Class, CS was taped in Ft. Worth on Monday nights for airing on Saturday nights, while the national show was almost always taped in Dallas. When Jerry Jarrett bought the company, he moved CS's tapings to Saturday mornings in Dallas (the show continued to air Saturday nights on KTVT) to go along with the weekly Friday night card in the same building. If you go on YouTube, there's lots of CS footage taped from KTVT, and in the 1989-1990 episodes, the wrestlers and announcers routinely comment about events from "last night" (meaning the Friday tapings for the syndicated show).

Given that you're all over the KM sub-forum for USWA Dallas/GWF, I'll defer to your knowledge. I was simply wondering if the Tatum superkick had ever aired on the syndicated shows that WWE now has possession of.

From what I was able to find online, others stations around the country besides KTVT canceled USWA programming over it (plus an angle where Steve Austin did a top rope splash onto Toni Adams), so it's likely footage aired on both the national show and CS.

You sure it was WWE and not done in the OB? I haven't made it that far into what WWE has uploaded to find out. I do know from the first few shows that WWE is censoring some content, including Ronnie P. Gossett's use of the word "retard".

I don't remember Marc Lowrance in uswa? He left shortly after the switch, maybe six months in. If I recall correctly he went full time as a minister. He bailed in May 1990, because he didn't agree with the direction that the show was going in. WWE Network only has one USWA Dallas show up featuring him.
