I did this for years, always in match writing feds. It suited me a lot better, as I didn't like roleplays, because they wouldn't be included in results or whatever. I ended up getting really good, as I've a flair for writing dramatic matches. I haven't done it in a long while now, though, because it's a lot of work and I don't have the time anymore. I miss it, though, it was a lot of fun, and really rewarding because I was up against some phenomenal, creative people. The place I wrote for is in my sig, if you're interested, that had a kind of quiet last year but is about to relaunch with a new schedule and model.

There is quite a few efeds using videoges on twitch and hitbox. I think once you have visual on the wrestler its hard to just do pen and paper efed.

Efedders never die. They just lose a Loser Leaves the Forum match.

I started in one with a character and was fairly decent at it or I thought. I kept losing my matches because my roleplays weren't long enough. One lady who was friends with the owner ripped into me because she was supposed to help me, but would only use IM and I told her that I rarely used IM. So I quit.
I had another one that I was in for years. I really liked it. It did have some drama. My tag team lost the titles because I upset the owner's friend because I wrote a roleplay with a baby doll in it. The owner's friend has just had a miscarriage. It wasn't done on purpose, but for punishment I lost the titles. It's no longer open these days. I kind of miss doing it though.

We got one down in the Games section I believe. Had one. Kinda hitting a rough patch recently Oh, it's still around. We're switching formats up, highly recommend it to anyone who's interested, we're always on the lookout for new folks.

Roleplay feds can be ok, but they are essentially ego-fueled after a while.
Angle feds seem to be the lamest when you're doing roleplay feds, but it's hecka redeeming to build other people while building yourself. From a reader and participant perspective, angled feds really do work amazingly when you have a great team participating. It's a hard sell for those competitive types, but I "retired" in the angled system, and I swear I feel like it could've been more iconic of a run if I had done solely that.
All-Star tournaments and crossover fed events work well as Roleplay-based events.
The death of AOL IM was the death of efedding. *cheesy smile*

I did e-fedding for quite a few years, both running feds and playing in them. I'd like to think I was pretty decent on both sides of the coin as I had quite a few characters and most did pretty well, regardless of the fed. The ones I ran, I always wanted to do something a bit different, would always do really well right away and get a lot of good press (while we pissed people off doing offensive shit), but i would either get bored, or just overextend my reach and none of my feds stayed running for long.
In a lot of ways, I feel like I come from an "old-guard" as when I first started, I ran with a group that showed me the ropes. Back when roleplays were referred to as "flashes." Also, I've always held to the idea that your characters should have some consistency. If you lose a retirement match, you will no longer use that character again.. regardless of the fed. I always felt I needed to keep hold of that just because, I felt if I was going to go as far as wager a character's career, I'd better honor that. Granted, in all those cases, I had already decided I was taking him out and wanted to try to build someone up on the way out or at least do something fun on the way out.
Been holding on to one character I haven't used yet, just in case the bug bites me again... and I do know a few people who still fed. It's mostly just a small group and it's more of a cathartic, creative experience than anything competitive anymore... but that makes it more fun. The one thing that killed e-wrestling was how easily politics could get involved, it was so stupid... in many ways, I mirrored the backstage, board-room antics in real life better than anything we could've booked in a roleplay.

Whatever happened to Roughcut. That place was fun just for the black list of Feds/rpers who got banned and the reason behind them.

I used to fed back in the day with a group of friends I knew in RL and my brothers. We'd have people we met online come and go, but we were pretty much the core group. After we all got out of high school, we put it to bed. I went inactive for years, eventually found my way back to it as I was finishing up college and found a few feds. They've mostly been fun.
One I was tied to the most is unfortunately inactive, due to some drama flaring up finally behind the scenes between some parties. Though there's another one that's solid overall, I think one of the mods here RPs there still.

I came up through the same fed as Notorious, and I'm still active in the successor fed. There's been more of a shift from Roleplay to Angle, and I'm starting to enjoy myself for the first time in a while under that shift. There are still certain people that I despise, because I try to maintain a believable broadcast standard, but overall it's a fairly fun time with the right group of people.
Also, an e-fed let me run a luchador vs. vampire feud, and I was ludicrously happy with that.

Had a bad experience in the efed I left last year. The owner and his ratchet buddies would bash their least favourite real wrestlers in promos and through the efed's twitter thread (like a kayfabe twitter feed for characters), they kept doing this to my friend who played AJ Lee. She got annoyed and left and shortly after I left too. It's a shame that efeds have a shit load of ****ing drama cause I used to enjoy writing promos and skits. Try getting EWR/TEW and running a diary with that. It's pretty great even for just running stories through my head. Like I turned this powerhouse heel into a face just by just having this arrogant heel give him shit for weeks about failing to win the title before the arrogant heel superkicked him out of nowhere and the now face just no sold it and threw him out of the ring. I also like how I started one of my main event feuds which came about just because the heel was just so pissed off that he lost to one of my popular guys that he immediately starting targeting one of the sons of the Ric Flair equivalent in thats database since that guy had won a match the previous night against a 9-time world champion who is guaranteed to be in the hall of fame when he retires. So the guy that lost figures that beating the guy who beat a future hall of famer is just as good as beating the hall of famer himself and is a good way to rebound from a loss.

I remember doing it for a couple of months in late 2000. It was funny as I had my character but brought in a side character not on the roster and he had a Raven/Bray Wyatt gimmick and I tried to get them to push him but they wouldn't allow me as he wasn't on the roster. I just wanted them to allow him to clean house in a battle royal to help the guy I was who he was stalking at the same time. My computer broke and then I lost the address to it and never went back. I think it is a bit lame really.

I was involved in one here for a little bit. I loved it as a creative outlet, and was really proud with some of the matches I wrote.
But at the same time, I had no time for the drama that came along with some members taking the whole thing too seriously.

I feel that sometimes efedding becomes a more proper simulation of the real wrestling business than it intends to be--particularly when it comes to egos and even backstage politics.

I used to in the early to mid 2000's but haven't in over 10 years. I never liked feds that allowed the use of real wrestlers though, having to create your own characters was so much better.

I did it for a while... I did it with Jagilki! Every experience I ever had ended up turning sour eventually. I met some fantastic people doing it but it's just not the kind of thing I enjoy anymore. I've been fortunate enough to have been a part of a community that grew from eWrestling. By the way Jag, it's Rob (Kill Crazy) in case you were wondering
