Starting it right now just so we can quickly move on from that awful DAL/WSH MNF game.

So we can focus on the NYG mnf game? No, we got real games on Sunday. Not the piss stain that will be Dolphins-Giants on Monday.

I'm genuinely intrigued by how Johnny Manziel can do against the 49ers depleted (boy is that an understatement) defense this Sunday.

I really hate the way the schedule is structured this week. There are 11 early games and two late games, except the two late games are Oakland at Denver and the nationally-televised Dallas at Green Bay.
Look, I get that they have a big national following, but can anyone come up with any good reason why the suck-ass, Matt Cassel-led Cowboys get a big national spotlight while TWENTY-TWO other teams jockey for your attention at 1 p.m.?

You answered your own question man. If the networks wanted it they could whine to have a start time changed but they know the ratings are there.

The bright side of the MNF game. Miami will be bringing out the throwbacks.

Cowboys = Ratings Always have. Perhaps it's just me, but I feel like this obsession with always shining a national spotlight on the Cowboys, regardless of how bad they are, is a fairly new concept. Granted, it's been a while since Dallas has been this bad, and maybe my memory's not all that great, but I don't remember Dallas constantly getting nationally-televised games in the early 2000s when they were bumbling to 5-11 and 6-10 records with the likes of Quincy Carter and Drew Henson under center. Looking at the 1 p.m. slate of games, there are three games (Buffalo at Philadelphia, Atlanta at Carolina, Pittsburgh at Cincinnati) that I see that will be more entertaining than Dallas at Green Bay or have more significance on the playoff picture. Let's not kid ourselves, barring the Packers players forgetting to show up at Lambeau Field Sunday, the Cowboys-Packers game will be decided by halftime.

Tried to do a Google search of tv ratings and such or tv schedule during that time, and haven't come up with much; at least not on a real cursory search, but they've always since the Sixties been among if not THE top draw each and every year.
I realize that makes me sound a lil homer-y, but it's usually true.
And I don't see em beating the Packers either, but one can hope. Certainly didn't see Philly knocking off NE last week.

The NFL media cycle is very frustrating. Dallas gets the national spotlight regardless of how they perform. Johnny Manziel gets loads of media attention when there's another sophomore quarterback who's been putting up excellent numbers for Oakland all season long (Carr), but hardly anyone talks about that guy.
I 100% understand the talk about teams like New England, Cincinnati, Carolina, Arizona, etc. since they are actually good, and may actually go somewhere in the postseason. The Cowboys? The Browns? Nope. Not generally worth speaking about.

a few weeks ago this Minnesota/Arizona matchup was looking much better, now the question is how badly will Arizona stomp a mudhole in the Purple Penis Helmets

Teddy Bridgewater with a very nice "Oh noez!" reaction to a fumble.

I hate watching football I really do. Yet here I am watching this team hoping it all breaks right one year. Le sigh
