They are an undeniably important part of rock'n'roll history, and as such, probably deserve to go in, but dear sweet f*** do I hate Chicago.

I correctly predicted all except I thought Yes would go in and didn't expect Chicago.
There was an article about how they thought the fan voting was rigged with bots, but the fan voting counted for so little. Still it would be wrong.
I think we are kind of getting into a weird time with the Hall of Fame-I love who's going in, but at the same time, I think it doesn't mean as much now. I'm a huge Cheap Trick fan, but they've been eligible since the mid 90s and this is the first time they've been nominated? About 20 years after they first became eligible???
But they have to keep going or everyone would get tired of seeing the same inductees that are already in

No Moody Blues, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Killing Joke, Megadeth, Slayer, Faith No More or White Zombie continues to show why I hate the RNRHOF.

NWA being in makes as much sense as Weird Al getting in.

Best class in years in my opinion. It's ludicrous that Deep Purple wasn't in already. Just the "Smoke On The Water" riff alone influenced countless guitarists. Chicago was an excellent band, at least in the Terry Kath years. It's a shame they are more known for their crappy '80s ballads like "You're My Inspiration" rather than their early stuff, like "25 or 6 To 4" and "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is". Their debut album is a masterpiece. Steve Miller Band is good, well-deserving of induction. Never been a huge fan of Cheap Trick, but I'm glad to see them in. I'd have gone with Yes over them though (sorry OP). I'm not at all a rap/hip hop fan but I won't argue the influence NWA has had on modern music.
The Deep Purple induction will be interesting if everyone inducted shows up. Richie Blackmore and Ian Gillan (at least) hate each other with a passion. I don't think Gillan is quite fond of David Coverdale (his replacement in the band in 1973) either. Also inducted is original lead singer Rod Evans (sang on their first hit "Hush") who hasn't been seen in public since 1980. No one is quite sure whether he's alive or dead.

This HOF is as valid as the WWF HOF. No real criteria aside from the 25-year thing. It seems like they just select random bands each year. Why not just make a 'Rock & Roll Museum' and get rid of the inclusiveness of a HOF? That would be so much better, and you can honor all the different bands and artists who have had an impact over time.

NWA being in makes as much sense as Weird Al getting in. Compton, Lynwood, same difference.

Sorry to Chicago fans, but I hate that band. They are one of my most hated groups in music history.

More importantly, NO WEIRD AL! f*** that shit. I hope Weird Al finally gets inducted so we won't have to hear you and everyone else moan on and on about him not being in. I'm a fan of his, I do think he deserves an induction, but I just REALLY want the complaints about him being snubbed to finally END. And hopefully 2Pac gets inducted without music fans freaking out about it.

No Moody Blues, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest, Killing Joke, Megadeth, Slayer, Faith No More or White Zombie continues to show why I hate the RNRHOF. I'm sure Iron Maiden has been offered but they turned it down. Or I might be thinking of some other honor they were to receive.

There were two Chicagos. The Peter Cetera led sappy band and the horn based band led by Terry Kath. I choose to think that is the band that's being inducted.

NWA being in makes as much sense as Weird Al getting in. I agree, both are deserving, legendary and made a strong immeasurable impact on the genre.

Well if you get down to it, what about comedy pioneers like Stan Freberg or Allan Sherman? Outside of comedy, I wouldn't think that any of them, including Al really had a lot of influence in rock.
I love them all, but they can be pigeonholed in this case. Not their fault-they didn't set out with dreams of getting into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame
