What the hell happened?!
Jeff Hardy was basically THE one remaining guy TNA had that they could utilize for the sake of marketing to a casual audience, and if he's going to be inactive for most of 2016, this will not go well with TNA. Or, WWE, if they were actually foolhardy in wanting to have brought him back for a nostalgia pop.

So, it's complications, much like Orton's neck issues. I figured he'd done hurt himself again doing something incredibly dangerous and/or stupid.

Hope he gets better. Guessing Matt will sign a short deal until Jeff returns, then on to WWE.

And that's why pro sports teams put clauses in their contracts about talent doing dangerous extracurricular activities. TNA wasn't going to be able to kept Jeff Hardy around to began with but their starpower is in the gutter right now without Jeff.

My memory is weak but I think he actually had these injuries prior to the accident, that the accident either made them worse or made them a need to get fixed over something he could live with.

I figured he'd done hurt himself again doing something incredibly dangerous and/or stupid. It's more like complications from not getting the injury properly treated in the first place while trying to rush things to get back in the ring as soon as he could.

Wait... is Matt's contract going to run out before they tape the end of the tournament?
Because... I could totally see TNA doing that.

It's weird that Jeff's first major injury occurred due to his own reckless actions. He's always been his own biggest worst enemy.

That's how they blew all their money in the first place.

This is TNA, the same company that allowed a drugged out Jeff Hardy to wrestle in a PPV. The way TNA cow-tows to him, i.e. Willow, selling his art and music, they probably wrote in his contract allowing him time off specifically to dirt bike.

To be fair, though still not speaking to TNA's intelligence in a complimentary way, that is likely the only way they could afford him to begin with, by granting him a lot of freedoms.

What exactly was Jeff's accident? I believe he jumped something on his motorbike and broke his leg. The showed the video of it on Impact at one point for some reason.
