It's been around for years and sometimes we think "oh crap" sometimes we're indifferent and sometimes we think "Dammit they've ruined this song! Sell outs!!"
So what has really set you off if even for a moment?
The "Viva Viagra" spots pissed me off, not so much because I thought they were ruining Elvis' legacy, but it was so goddamned stupid.
I'm not a huge Allman Brothers fan, but I hate Geico commercials that go out of their way to do something stupid and get very far away from their point to promote their stupid insurance.
I guess I've become numb to all of it now, but I woulda been really pissed years ago if they had used Pantera in the Carl's Jr. Commercial
Oh, and Swiffer ruined Blondie's "One Way or Another" for me for years. All their commercials sucked
You? I'm sure I'm forgetting some that really did annoy me

Sweet Home Alabama for KFC. Doesnt even make sense since KFC stands for KENTUCKY Fried Chicken. If they really wanted a song to shill their product, why not hire the Kentucky Headhunters at least?

A local radio station ran a Ford truck commercial that used the "This is My Fight Song" song. The same one that WWE used for their Susan G Koeman campaign this year.

Led Zeppelin and Cadillac made me mad when they first started. Thought they were 'selling out' or whatever but I don't really care any more. These days, I just miss good old fashioned jingles.

Songs I can barely listen to anymore due to use in tons of commercials:
The Hives - "Come On" (Xbox One) Santigold/Karen O - "GO!" (Ford) The Who - "Eminence Front" (GMC) The Go! Team - "The Power Is On" (NFL Play60)

If anyone watched any television programming in 2006 or 2007... "THIS IS OUR COUNTRY" it's funny because that was an anti-Bush protest song. Guess Chevy didn't get the memo...

This is more baffled by than pissed off, but there is a car company that used Johnny Cash's God's Gonna Cut You Down.
I -- I don't get it

Loads of video games are using old (but not classic, and largely inappropriate) popular music. One of the COD games used Til I Collapse by Eminem for some reason, for example.

Along the same lines, when either Levis or Wrangler (can't remember which) used "Fortunate Son" by CCR to create the same sort of patriotic/jingoistic vibe... by using only the "Some folks are born, made to wave the flag, oooh the red, white, and blue" line and cutting away before the song could get seditious.

Viva Viagra is one of the greatest commercials of all time. A bunch of middle aged guys hang around an abandoned roadside restaurant in the middle of nowhere so they can talk about their erections. They find out the place has instruments and decide to write and sing a song celebrating their revived sex life.
