The one movie I'm glad to skip every year.

Weird that a movie which was intended to be a satire of Christmas movies, has become a Christmas classic Also weird that such a perfect movie was made by a guy (Bob Clark) known for making stinkers (excepting the first Porky's). Well I don't like Porky's or this movie, so he's always batted zero in my eyes.

Anyone else disturbed by the scene where we hear Schwartz (i think that was his name) getting beaten up over the phone?

Maybe air a different one on TNN?
I like the movie okay but one channel is enough

It's a great one, but I can easily go a decade without ever having to watch it again.

Not even my favorite Bob Clark-directed Christmas movie.

I think cmt ran the "sequel" a few times/not that I'm going to watch it, but I wonder what they thought they'd accomplish with that

Growing up I loved this movie. I would watch it all night long as a kid when I couldn't sleep because I was too excited for opening up gifts. This year it may have finally wore out its welcome. I tried to watch it yesterday and couldn't get through one. ESPN does the 30 For 30 marathon on Christmas now, I think that is my new favorite tradition.

I really have no nostalgic attachment to the movie , but I can see how a lot of people can see this as a "Christmas clasic" . Also I can see how people can be really sick and tired of this movie . I mean I can only imagine if they every year they had a 24 hour Sandlot marathon on the 4th of July or something I'd be sick of it too.
