Pretty simple. I pick: inability to wipe properly. I've been laid up since Friday (more or less) and have only really gotten up to use the bathroom. Wiping has been a nightmare and I'm even more uncomfortable now because of that. This bites.

Pain. I had a spinal sprain/strain last winter. I had to sleep sitting up on the couch because going from lying to sitting up to standing was next to impossible. Wiping wasn't a problem.

I've gotta say the pain. My back goes out quite often and it SUCKS. I've got a chronic condition with a small crack in a vertebra in the small of my back, coupled with arthritis creeping up my back. I keep trying to get my doctor to do something about it now but they're in a "just wait" mindset, whereas my dad had similar symptoms the entire time I was growing up and had surgery about 6 years ago in an attempt to correct them but it was too far gone at that point and the surgery just perpetuated the problems to the point that he walks (barely) with a cane and has lost nearly all feeling in one of his legs. This is a huge source of frustration for me since I'm dealing with the same thing doctor wise with my ankle. The ligament in my left ankle is non-existent at this point (no hyperbole) and they want to wait and see how things go, meanwhile I get to points where I can't even walk because of the pain. Granted it's very off and on, but yeah.

I messed mine up last Tuesday and today was my first physical therapy session. They did a procedure called dry needling. It hurt worse than the back pain itself. I have to go through it once a week for 9 weeks....hooray

I go tomorrow morning for X-rays and such, hoping nothing structurally wrong, but this definitely sucks

Both my parents have back issues and they say, without any question, the pain is the worst part. All of the other complications arise from the pain itself, they say.

I've pulled muscles in my back a few times. To me, the worst was how immobile it made me. The pain was bad, but I could usually get in a position where I could live. Being stuck in that position was horrible though. Now that I'm a physical therapist, back pain makes up about 2/3 of what I see. I messed mine up last Tuesday and today was my first physical therapy session. They did a procedure called dry needling. It hurt worse than the back pain itself. I have to go through it once a week for 9 weeks....hooray The first few times are usually the worst. If back pain is your final boss, the needles are hitting the flashing lights for massive damage.
