TL;DR Match Listings:
Blake and Murphy v The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder) v Jason Jordan and Chad Gable v The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch)
"The Drifter" Elias Samson v Bull Dempsey
Sami Zayn v "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger
---
That's right, it's Wednesday again and that means it's time for more NXT. This week, we get some additional matches from the SSE Arena Wembley in London, England, taped before and after last week's Takeover: London.
Tonight's main event sees the TV return of who could be considered the heart of soul of NXT (no Tommy Dreamer jokes, please) in one Sami Zayn. Sidelined since May with a shoulder injury picked up by simply hyping up the crowd ahead of his match against John Cena on RAW, he's had to watch on the sideline as NXT went from strength to strength without him, as well as watch his hated former friend, Kevin Owens, make waves on the main roster. But tonight, the longest journey begins again with the single step, as he meets Tye Dillinger in singles competition.
NXT's tag team division gets another moment in the spotlight as Blake and Murphy, The Hype Bros, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable and The Vaudevillains meet in a Fatal 4-Way bout, with all four teams trying to get that next shot at the Tag Team Championship belts held by Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. Will the Krueger-inspired BAM Factor bring forth a nightmare on Lakeside Way? Can Rawley and Ryder hype their way into victory? Are the increasingly-beloved Jordan and Gable ready, willing and (G)able to show no limits? Or can English and Gotch turn things around after a rough stretch of results led to a lapse in their gentlemanly facade?
Finally, after weeks of cryptic musical interludes, we see the debut of Elias Samson. The Drifter is not a new face to long-time NXT fans, but as we've seen with others, once there's a bit of time and investment going into a guy, that's when things get interesting. Tonight, in a rematch from a similar bout at the Takeover: Brooklyn taping, he takes on Bull Dempsey.
All that, and what may be going down next as we begin the road towards Takeover: Dallas, TONIGHT on NXT!
