Let's wrap up the year with what we were willing to stick up for in the face of critics!
- Dreamworks's Home: It doesn't even touch Inside Out as far as animated films, but Rihanna and Parsons are charming and the soundtrack is beast.
- Caitlyn Jenner: You can critique her (no politics), and she has flaws (as we all do), but I think she's doing some good and very important work with her public platform.
- The Nae-Nae: We've had worse dance crazes. Far worse.
- True Detective, Season 2: Yes, it's a cluttered and pretentious mess, but there were some things I liked about it. Losing Fukunaga hurts the cohesion, but it's shot beautifully, the performances are good for the most part, and Vaughn surprised me by how effective a villain he plays (and yes, Semyon is a villain in my eyes for the whole season, despite his struggles).

Minions: These little guys seemed to receive a massive backlash in 2015, I'm not going to lie I can see why, I however refuse to be apart of it and still enjoy them.

Terminator Genisys: My family and I had a pretty good time watching the movie. It wasn't that bad.
Get Hard: My dad and I saw it, and we laughed quite a bit throughout watching it. There were some pretty funny moments.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 - the PlayStation Vita port: Sure, there are horrible framerate issues and long loading times, but the game has been fairly enjoyable for me. I mean, c'mon, it's RER2 on the Vita!

Pixels. Its an inoffensive cute little movie. I agree. For a while, I was very reluctant on watching the movie. But, I gave it a chance, and, it wasn't terrible. Certainly not Sandler's best, but it's not his worst, either. I must admit, I did like the Pac-Man chase.

I actually like that Whip Nae Nae song. It's just harmless dance floor fodder.

Her: I mean, she was a trainwreck, but it was entertaining as hell to see what she was gonna do next.

I've soured a lot on Caitlyn Jenner for falling into the trap of internalized transphobia with a lot of the cis-normative stuff she's said lately. But I think her speech at the ESPY's was great and very much needed to be said.

*Gundam Reconguista in G: This started in late 2014, but I count it as a 2015 show. People have generally trashed the show for its characters and plot, but I found it to be very interesting, and having been disappointed with recent Gundams lately, I actually consider it one of my favorite installments.
*Yo-Kai Watch: People haven't been warm to this game here in the West as was hoped for, but I'm very excited about finally playing this game.

Yeah, I'm down with minions Actually to clarify, haven't actually seen the film but they look cute and I bought a little stuffed toy Minion for my niece and she loved it so they're cool with me.

Didn't Avengers: Age of Ultron have equal supporters/dislikers? Well I liked it well enough.

But I think her speech at the ESPY's was great and very much needed to be said. In my own personal experience as a trans person, most of what she's said lately is 100% true though. I know not every trans person has the same experiences, but my own experience is very close to what she's said. Then again, a lot of trans activists I've encountered think they speak for everyone when they don't, and I completely disagree with many of them re: trans issues. Jenner along with Laura Jane Grace are probably the only two trans activists who have said anything I even remotely agree with.

I enjoyed Avengers: Age of Ultron a lot. Not my favourite Marvel movie by any stretch but it wasn't as bad as people like to make it out to be. Excited to see how the Russos handle Infinity War.

I loved the new Terminator movie. I don't go to an Arnold movie expecting heavy, meaningful dialog and a good plot. I go to watch one liners and see shit explode.

Black Widow will do a SWERVE~! heel turn on the team, and Iron Man was Thanos all along! Then, Hawkeye breaks character and does a shoot interview about being held back cause he has no super powers, and maybe he will go to that company with the Shield where their biggest star has no powers either.

Pixels. Its an inoffensive cute little movie. I still love how there were so many articles claiming that Pixels would be the worst movie of the year/decade/ever, and then it came out and suddenly everybody shut up about it. Talk about hyperbole and baseless hate.
