Anyone else concerned that the much-hyped Live "Super SmackDown" on USA had a few less viewers than last week's taped, unhyped SyFy episode? I mean it's a different day and network, but still...
Last week: 2,332,000 This week: 2,264,000

The last one was the same way I think. The day change and lack of hype doesn't help.
EDIT: Actually it has never gotten better than the previous taped episode from what I can tell.

Nah, it's Krimmus.
Give it a few week before we mock them on this one.

I thought they hyped it well on Raw? They did but day before isn't good. For something like this you need at least two or three weeks to hype the change and get people to break their viewing habits.

I had no idea it was on Tuesday until they said so on raw Worse yet I didn't know they had a showing of Santa's Little Helper until Raw the day after it aired.

Most people didn't even know there was going to be a Super SmackDown. They only started promoting a day before which is bad. It's like Raw 1000. You know how long they promoted that program? They should have done the same for SmackDown if they wanted results.

If you call something "Super" you better damn well have Great Power Uti booked. Because if you don't, you're just wasting everyone's time.

SD would consistently be better if Bryan was still around, as he wanted to make it his show. It still feels like Raw lite, even if it's often more watchable.
I think they could've kept that idea with a guy like Ambrose, a guy who's really popular, and would make you want to tune into SD to see him.

The fact that the show stayed rather constant despite being on a different day and network is actually impressive.

The first Smackdown I watched in nearly a year and it just reminded me why I never watch it.

Like folks here care about Smackdown. Said the WWE programming exec, laughing at the intern who dared suggest what others might think was a good idea & thus will be sent to the Titan Towers sex dungeon for reconditioning.

Like folks anywhere care about Smackdown. I care but FAN is too cool for Smackdown except to comment on the spoilers every week. And the 7 of us who frequent the live thread care. They have pretty solid shows every week. I like the weekly "Dean Ambrose main event" they give us.

Why would any of us be concerned with WWEs rating success? Unless they pay you.

Why would any of us be concerned with WWEs rating success? Unless they pay you. Because, like it or not, the pro wrestling business as we know it rides on the back of WWE. There's no need for the condescending apathy. A lot of people not employed by WWE (fans and workers alike) have a vested interest in WWE's overall status. Including it's individual successes and failures. TNA failing tomorrow would leave a hole for something better to fill. WWE collapsing tomorrow would create a black hole that would drag a massive chunk of the non-WWE wrestling industry down with it. Obviously a mediocre viewership number of one episode of one show isn't going to swing the scales one way or the other (so there's nothing to get worked up over), but blissful ignorance and slapping down others' discussion isn't the answer either.
