We know how his booking was screwed up for a good while but suddenly after Seth's injury it's changed which makes sense. Let's recap.
- Ambrose goes over clean on Ziggler and Owens in the WWE Championship tournament. One thing that's noticeable is that Ambrose is wrestling more and brawling less here. Austin commented on this during his podcast. Stiffer punches, he's selling better, more wrestling, he's turned it up.
- Ambrose loses to Reigns in the finals but he barely lost. Ambrose is one of the only people to kick out of Roman's Spear and Ambrose is still looked at as a beast through the entire thing. Main event.
- Ambrose goes over clean on Owens for the IC Championship.
- Ambrose wins a steel cage main event match with Sheamus and before the match even started he was hit with a Brogue Kick, beaten up by Sheamus's goons, took a top rope White Noise (another one of Sheamus's 18 different finishers) and he still kicked out. Sheamus is a 4 time WWE Champion.
- Ambrose goes over Ziggler and Owens clean in a triple threat IC Championship title defense the very next night on SD. Main event.
- Ambrose gets the hot tag and pin in the TTTT special, is the one being lifted up at the end of the broadcast, main event.
For a while he was lost but they finally figured out what to do with his character. He's showing more of himself, taken Austin's nags and turned them around and he's being booked as a resilient fighting badass, who's now champion, who can go out there with the best of them. He's actually making that title relevant in the short amount of time he's had it. Also he's being booked as being #2 in the company of full-time guys behind Reigns, just as good. Thank god for that. I look forward to seeing how this "Ambrose fighting champion" reign comes to a close because if they keep this up then Ambrose will have an amazing WWE Championship win when the time comes. I'm loving the fact he's not in random angles and seen as "Roman's buddy" more than what he himself had going on. He's actually being picked to main event nights more as well too which evens the load out.
And they've finally let him stay his mega-resilient "I'm indestructible guys" self as he was in FCW. It makes sense to see Ambrose kick out of all these crazy moves that should defeat him. We're seeing more of the badass resilient fighting babyface Ambrose than this "lunatic fringe yall he's cruaayyyyzzzzzzeeeee guyzzzz" thing they've been screaming out.
Props to the company for giving him something he can sink his teeth into.
