So the movie people say the NFL doesn't want you to see. Right now at 60% on RT. So anyone plan on checking this one yet?

It just comes across as exploitation and propaganda. The trailer killed this movie for me. Especially the hinting of the NFL hiring people to go after him and the total fellatio of the doctor. "You're going to be a national hero."
It feels like theres a strong anti-NFL slant. What the league did was shitty, but I'd rather watch something at least a little objective that isn't trying to be a thriller.

Wouldn't shock me to see the NFL actually do that. They would do everything in their power to downplay the doctor

The trailer for it was the cheesiest most oscar baiting thing I have ever seen. Like holy shit it looked like a sketch parody of an oscar bait film.

Surprised its not higher on Rotten Tomatoes considering how much of an easy target the NFL is, and how usually dour dramas like this have to sweep up the Oscars. From what I've seen, the critics like Will Smith's performance. I'm guessing there's something off with the script.

The main takeaway I have from the trailers is wondering what the hell accent Will Smith is trying for. He sounds like he's auditioning for the old 7-Up commercials.

Looks terribly boring to me. I hate the NFL and even I think it's going after them too much lol

Eh, the NFL really was every bit as scummy as the trailers made them out to be from everything I heard, and the fact that they strongarmed ESPN to not air a documentary on concussions pretty much proves it. The problem is that sports fans will automatically dismiss it for stupid reasons.

NFL Special Ops break into Dr. Omalu's office with guns drawn and just as all looks lost, he hears this:

Its the idea they imply that the NFL would hire professional assassins to kill the doctor is just flat out goofy and screams of sensationalism.

Sure, all I"m saying is that after what the NFL did, I really have no sympathy for them or how they're portrayed.

if you want to know the real story/issues watch "League of Denial" my main problem with "Concussion" is that it's not cheesy enough. They should have ninjas storming the doctors office, the Great Power Uti controlling them like a snakecharmer with his saxamaphone, gratuitous NFL cheerleader shower scenes, Krang being controlled by an NFL players battered brain, awkward Roger Goodell bro hugs on draft day, and Good Ol' JR on commentary with Cris Collinsworth.

I feel like quite a bit was glossed over and this story could've done more and carried more weight as a 6-or-so-part mini series on HBO. I don't remember all the players names but when the dude with the beard was grabbing his wife I got major Benoit flashes.

I wouldn't completely put it past Goodell. He sends assassins after Belichik every year. Belichik just sends him a note back with a bloody mask, saying "Better luck next year."
