I am not talking about things like doctor/dental appointments but days that should for all practical purposes be good that always turn out not be so good.
Right now with Christmas I am getting more and more to the point where I dread it. The reason I dread it is because the last few years something bad has happened around Christmas that has ruined it for me.
2011-Since I have one of those jobs that someone has to work Christmas I had to work Christmas. The day after Christmas I was going to have Christmas dinner bur got in a wreck.
2012-Had a stomach virus
2013-Once again another Christmas at work (which actually I did not mind) but the day before I spent hours trying to change the brakes on my car. A few days later both me and my dad wound up sick. My dad had bronchitis and I was about to get it.
2014-My landlord was being a *CENSORED* for the sole purpose of being a *CENSORED* and it was uncertain whether or not I was going to even have a place to stay after January.
2015-Yesterday I was planning on going to my aunt and cousin for Christmas Eve since I have the dreaded "got to work Christmas* again this year. Yesterday morning I got a call from my aunt that my cousin was in the hospital.

I don't like Holidays in general. Lots of money that I need to come up with and then spend. I don't like my birthday either because it reminds me that I'm one step closer to the grave and that I don't have enough friends for a party.

New Year's Eve. I just hate everything and surrounding it.
When I was in my mid-20s, I'd often go out to a bar or a club and it was just a cash grab. You'd pay for cover (I've paid upwards of $50) and you'd want to get there early to avoid lines, so you'd be at a bar from 10 on and paying some exorbitant price for drinks and by the end of the night, you've dropped way too much money.
Last year, I had to go into the office on New Year's Day in the morning, so I was in bed by 10 on New Year's Eve and it was my best New Year's Eve ever.

Lets see....reasons I hate Christmas.
)I'm 28 my parents are dead, my grandparents are dead. My wife's grandma died on the 18th last year and she was my only in law I had a good relationship with. My birthday is also on the 20th so that was a rough one.
I have kids and I love doing everything I can for them but the anxiety of making sure they have a good Christmas is overwhelming.
My wife is difficult to guy for creates more anxiety.
Traveling to like 4 houses creates anxiety.
Apply those to all holidays.
