I'd like to also thank the people working on this boxing day, because some places have sales. Which means you have to deal with THE WORST OF THE WORST in terms of customers. These are the gelatinous tapeworms that come once a year and have no regards to anyone or anything and make a mess.

I posted this on my Facebook and my Twitter last night and I'll post it here to.
A very special shoutout everyone who had to work today.

I greatly appreciate these people, especially this year since I'm traveling around and need certain services. However, I have to question the "people should not be working/making people work on Christmas" thinking. What makes Christmas this super special holiday that everyone must observe (or at least take time off for)? I, for one, would have no complaints about having to work on Christmas if I were asked to. Well, we can't get into religion here, but Come on-whether you have the same beliefs or not.... And besides, people have already let Sunday's and other days slide that they used to be off and they'll keep on losing days with this line of thinking Take what you can get before it's taken from you

And yet no one feels bad for the people that worked all seven days of Hannukah.

Religion does not have to be brought in. I'm not saying Christmas should not be a universal day off and that people should be expected to work. What I'm saying is people should not begrudge others for working/making others work on Christmas. It's not like everyone hates having to work on this day, and are only doing so because they are greedy or being forced to. For me, where I live I have no friends or family. I decided to travel around and possibly meet up with friends in a different city rather than spend the whole day alone in my tiny space. This requires making use of accommodation services and perhaps grocery stores and eateries. I greatly appreciate the places that stayed open for people like me, but there was absolutely no expectation from me that these places be open because "Who cares about Christmas?"

I have to tip my hat to these people.
For some, they do it because they have to. People have to work in hospitals, fire houses, and the police. And I'm certain they wouldn't have it any other way.
Besides, one of my best friends worked yesterday, and his job is working a casino buffet.

I needed to go grocery shopping yesterday, and the store was open. Thank you for that.
