Based on Sports Illustrated's choices.
You can also pick "other" and write in your choice.

It's a tough call, so many quality choices. I'll have to think this over.

I wonder if the Horse has enough momentum here. Looking at the actual Sports Illustrated results, the Horse actually won the fan vote. I was surprised on that one.

Other: Tom Brady
(yeah, I know)
He starts 2015 by going 33-for-50 for 367 yards and three touchdowns and overcoming two 14-point deficits against the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Playoffs. The next week, he goes 23-for-35 for 226 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-7 decimation of the Indianapolis Colts in the Conference Championship. Then, the "Deflategate" scandal drops, with people rushing to implicate Tom Brady as a liar, a cheater, and a fraud whose career accolades were the work of chicanery and tomfoolery. Amidst all that, Brady wins Super Bowl XLIX, going 37-for-50 for 328 yards and four touchdowns and mounting the largest fourth-quarter comeback in Super Bowl history en route to his fourth Lombardi Trophy and third Super Bowl MVP award.
During the entire course of the off-season, Brady is subjected to allegations from a biased report that was bought and paid for by the very league out to destroy his reputation. He is handed a ludicrous four-game suspension for puffs of air out of footballs, which the league didn't even prove were done intentionally or by man. He fights the suspension, having it upheld because he is not given a fair shake to argue his case because the arbitrator in his appeal is the pompous, megalomaniacal commissioner who suspended him in the first place. Once he gets his literal day in court, in front of a truly unbiased judge, the league's case is rightly thrown in the trash and Brady's bogus suspension is overturned.
How does Brady respond to having to deal with that kind of off-season? By leading the New England Patriots to their 13th division championship in 15 years, with 35 touchdowns to six interceptions, a 103.8 quarterback rating, and a 12-2 record as of Dec. 26, most of which was done with his two best running backs, three best receivers, best tight end, and a majority of his offensive line dealing with a variety of injuries.

I still don't understand how American Pharoah and the Kansas City Royals as a singular choice made it on to a poll for Sports Person of the Year. One isn't even a human being and the other is multiple persons.
Anyway, my vote is for Serena Williams.

I'll go for Novak since I don't think he gets enough credit for how good he is.

One isn't even a human being and the other is multiple persons. Anyway, my vote is for Serena Williams. There is precedent. The United States Olympic men's ice hockey team, U.S. women's soccer team, and Boston Red Sox won the award as a collection of individuals in 1980, 1999, and 2004. There is not, however, any instance of a non-human winning the award. Anyway, if I had a top five, my ballot would be: 1. Tom Brady 2. Stephen Curry 3. American Pharoah 4. The U.S. women's national soccer team 5. Serena Williams I really don't understand why Williams won. She didn't even win the Grand Slam. In my opinion, that should be the absolute baseline for a tennis player or golfer to win Sportsman of the Year.

In the UK Sports Personality of the Year, I went with Mo Farah. He's dominated his discipline in athletics just as much as Bolt has in recent years, yet as the distance races aren't anywhere near as exciting as the sprint races, he never gets enough credit.

Mo's issue came in that his achievement was in a non-Olympic year where track and field is less prominent, plus he suffers from being overshadowed by Jess Ennis as the British face of the sport.

With all the Brady votes so far, I'm surprised SI didn't even consider him this year.
