Don't ask me how, but the Bossman must have somehow gotten over with audiences. I know that happened because in the early 90s, KFC had a promotional deal with the WWF: If you bought one of the overpriced, greasy-as-hell meals, you got a WWF stamper in the shape of one of four WWF 'superstars.' I can only remember two of the four superstars featured in this promotion: Bossman and The "Macho King" Randy Savage. You should be able to just guess the next two...Hogan and Warrior. I had those two. Remember Bossman having one too, but didn't get that, had to beg enough for KFC to get the stampers I got.

The KFC Ad.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFjey3YhofMI think Boss Man and Jake were put up there as top babyfaces because they recognizable because they had gimmicks, who could miss Bossman in his attire with the nightstick and of course Jake with a massive python. They were flashy recognizable characters of the 80's so were treated as such in star power.
