I'm mostly pissed about how short HHH and Curtis Axel's 60 minute Iron Man match was. The prospect of a Hunter/Axel Iron-Man always reminded me of when they first introduced the Iron-Man into the video games. You'd get all jumped up on the novelty 'til you realized there's little fun being 26-0 ahead with 40 minutes to go. The only intrigue as to a Hunter/Axel gig, even with the latter's then ongoing push, would be guessing as to how many falls Hunter'd get within a minute. Also, more on topic, can we get a nay-men for the fact that Hunter's kayfabe concussion was a result of Brock Lesnar, the later conqueror of the streak, had to cheat to win a cage match against a part-time HHH? Say what you please of how utterly fantastic the latter-day Lesnar has become, but the 'E came so dreadfully close to jackknifing that money-train before it ever hit track. Kudos both to the WWE for finally looking at all that money on the table, and also to Heyman, during the 2014 Lesnar/Cena feud, for somewhat retconning the pre-2014 Lesnar as operating at 50 percent due to diverticulitis.

He's fine when he stays off-screen. When he's on-screen, he's got to be Billy Big Balls, even though he's a semi-retired, bald, 40+ man who looks ridiculous wearing the ugliest suits ever. People say this, but Triple H has been losing left right and centre the past few years. Yes the character gets put over in promos, and he puts himself over, but then he usually jobs or as in the recent case with Roman, gets the shit beaten out of him.

So was this a sick RIB on Dolph by HHH? Did he and the Spirit Squad have heat so this was his way to get back Dolph? What's up with HHH agreeing to this if he was on the Concussion Panel of Nowitzki? I think it was more like trying to get Axel over while keeping Trips "looking strong."

The worst part was the follow-up, which was basically Triple H saying nuts to the medical professionals and wanting to fight because he loves the fans and THIS BUSINESS. But Stephanie and Mr. McMahon showed up and accosted the fans for their bloodlust and putting their husband/son-in-law in danger.
Basically, the angle existed so the WWE could ask "Who loves Triple H the most: the fans or his family?"

What if the stip was that Triple H had to bury a guy 100 times in a set amount of time or Stephanie will divorce him? Like he gets to 99 and then Steph comes out and is about to serve him divorce papers but then Trips calls one of the writers to the ring and shoots on him and publicly for it only for Steph to shout, "THAT'S 100!". She raises Triple H's arm, then they both start laughing at the silliness of it all, freeze frame, credits and wacky sitcom music roll.

Steph interferes, in a seeming act of love, to absolutely eviscerate HHH's opponent with pimp-slaps. Hunter approaches to thank her for help in that match and Stephanie responds with a bemused "there was a match?..."

Sting took a pedigree, a sweet chin music, fought off all of DX and was hit with a sledgehammer before he was pinned, all with Triple H begging off in fear. They made him look like Superman, it was the handshake and subsequent promos that made that dumb.

Especially when you take into account that the entire context to that feud was that WCW was inferior. HHH booked himself to confirm it.

That's a matter of opinion, I think, but I'd say the actual match itself is absolutely not the problem with that angle, it was the contradictory promos, the ridiculous commentary from JBL, the handshake afterwards that all made Sting look worse and Trips look better. Anyway, that was the first match he'd won since what, 2011?

That's the problem with HHH, he comes out of retirement just to beat guys who need wins. He's won like two matches in five years, and jobbed to young talent way more than that. From Cagematch. Year Matches Wins Percentage won 2015 1 1 100.0 2014 4 0 0.0 2013 5 1 20.0 2012 3 1 33.3 2011 9 7 77.8 2010 39 31 79.5 Let's look at 2015 Over Sting, your milage may vary on the match itself, he didn't need that win but he got it anyway. 2014 First he loses to Bryan in a match he had to lose otherwise the Wrestlemania crowd would be hostile or dead for the rest of the night. He loses again to Bryan in a no contest after Orton, Kane and Batista and Shield antics. Six man tag with Batista/Orton vs the Shield at Extreme Rules, Batista takes the pinfall. At Payback he actually takes the loss, laying down for Roman Reigns in the Shield's final match before disbanding to keep the Authority angle rolling. 2013 Paper victories for Curtis Axel, a dark match loss to the Shield and a loss to that rising star, Brock Lesnar. 2012 Puts over Lesnar, The Undertaker and is on the losing team in a 6 man tag match at an MSG show Not squashing rising stars as much as he did from 2001-2011 doesn't mean he's improved, doesn't mean we have a new generous Hunter, it just means he's been used sparingly in the ring, put against opponents who kind of had to win like Lesnar, Taker and Bryan, and the stats don't reflect all the time dedicated to making the faces du jour look like chumps. He also put over Roman Reigns clean in a tag match with the Shield, someone they'd push near constantly as the next face of the company, so that's something I guess, a guy Triple H supposedly pushed to get the top slot in the first place.
