They don't and I never thought they did. I was referring to USA Network programming. I was referring to the Neville vote, which was done on TV. He was talking about the fan votes on TV. I understand the TV issue, but he was replying to a comment talking about the Canadian house show loop. In that case it would be fraud (texting cost money) which is highly illegal.

Well...go to any live event from September when they were running Rollins vs Reigns, like in Calgary and Edmonton..the old Text what match you want to see gimmick...Cage, Street Fight and no dq or something....no cage was there... These broadcasting regulations you speak of....where are they? I don't buy it. I dont understand why you want them to be real, when it only makes sense for the company to control all variables? FCC. Essentially they cannot have a contest with viewer voting where the results are false, misleading, or deceptive. UhSee...the thing is...its not a contest. The voting doesnt make one eligible for winning anything. Its a loophole.

They don't hang the cage for house shows, they bring it out in pieces so it could easily have been there without you knowing. There is years of evidence and reports of the votes being real, to dismiss them just because makes zero sense. I just dont see any years of evidence and reports....none....whomever is in charge backstage, leaves as little as they can to chance, and will do as much as they can to make you believe that you can make a difference. About the cage...I remember them building it back in the 80's and 90's but I thought the cages were more complicated now, and that building it would take too long during a live show, hence they hung them...is it confirmed they build them? Especially for an unadvertised match? Still doubt it. Anyways...Im out. This debate has just firmly entrenched us in our original beliefs....these things tend to do this. But like you said, not rigging it would make zero sense.

They've also used the put-together cage for TV matches before, as well, so there's basically nothing that'd indicate they couldn't have done so this time if need be.

It's the Slammys. They don't mean shit in the long term and barely the short term of the winners. WWE used to control the outcome for this meaningless awards. But once it went public voting, they gave up control. They may do things to try to help sway votes a certain way but they don't fake outcomes. If WWE going to push Kevin Owens, they are going to push him regardless of him winning a Slammy or not. Neville's win will be forgotten before Wrestlemania.

I'll grant you that there's at least the space available to question whether the Slammy Voting is legit or not because we don't see the numbers and don't get to count the actual votes.... but when people, myself included, have been to events where they brought the cage out and assembled it on the spot, you're just getting ridiculous. At a Smackdown taping I went to way back in the year 2009, the post show dark match was Jericho and Edge vs Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio in a tag team steel cage match. They brought out all the pieces and assembled it solely for a dark match. And that's just a case of this I've seen in-person. I'm certain there have been countless examples of this happening on the live televised Raws as well. So yeah. That's not even up for debate. You're just trying to be contrarian about everything now.

No cage was seen the entire night the show was on TV. The moment the show went off the air, several ring crew brought out pieces of the cage and built it right there. So, yes, they still do it old school style

Always. In the old days, theyd have "mail in" voting...to build their mailing list...as if theyd let the fans decide anything.

I have to confess something guys...
So I just got back to playing the console games (havent played since WWF No Mercy for the N64) and I chose to get 2K14 because it had the most complete features at the time (few months back ago.) I knew about the deadline from 2K Games shutting down the 2K14 servers at the end of October when 2K16 came out, so I made sure to download all the custom wrestlers I needed with those 100 slots... I downloaded a bunch of Attitude era superstars, WCW guys, ECW guys, TNA guys, and even the current NXT guys and all of that..
but I forgot to download Neville.. Whoops.

Man, you're entitled to your opinion and I've no horse in this race one way or the other, but when you offer up a hypothesis, the onus is on you to prove it with some sort of evidence, not on others to offer up evidence that it isn't the case. Just as if I were to claim that a teapot orbits the Sun somewhere in space, it would be nonsensical for me to expect others to believe me on the grounds that they cannot prove me wrong. The burden of proof is on you and the idea that it would make sense for them to rig it simply isn't proof.

Wrestling is different from reality TV, but the process of asking your viewers to vote via media devices is not. As low stakes as the Slammys are, rigging the actual results would be misleading and false.

The house show I was at in March had us Tweet what match we wanted to see with specific hashtags. It was either a Divas Tag or Divas single match. It showed on the jumbotron that 92% had voted for single and told us there was only 15 mins left to vote. I checked twitter and saw that literally 2 people had tweeted for a singles match and dozens and dozens had voted for a tag match. Then at the last second they tallied the votes and said that tag match barely won. Again the actual score was probably like 100 to 4 in favor of tag. They lied to us all night so more people would tweet they were at the house show.
So yeah, they do lie. Not saying they did with the Slammy's but to say they can't because of some laws no one can seem to specifically cite seems a little hasty

The Slammy voting is legit. There's no reason besides real voting to have winners not be in attendance. If it's rigged, those people should never win.
Plus, there's too many winners whose win can only be explained by popularity. Maria was voted Diva of the Year in 2009 when she had just returned after being gone for a few months and had last been seen as Ziggler's girlfriend. If WWE chose the winner, I have a hard time believing that they wouldn't have picked Michelle McCool (or Mickie James, due to her being in the "Piggy James" angle with McCool at the time).

I loved how they tried to convince us he was a worthy winner via the video package.

Neville wins. Is immediately brushed away so Owens can talk longer and win a match after.
Neville wasn't supposed to win that shit.

It has been stated multiple times by multiple people they do not fix the votes. They could be sued if they do. I believe this is only the case in voting where people have to pay to vote, like "pay 99 cents to text your winner to x phone number". Which they really don't do anymore that I know of, since it's on the WWE app now. Not positive on that though, it's just something I've seen come up in passing over the years on here several times.
