What a disgrace to the LOD legacy. What was the point of this? I know Animal returned to get a nostalgia pop to boost DVD sales but why did he have to stay and make this permanent? And then they won the titles. Why Heidenreich? Was there no other remotely intimidating big man on the roster? And then to cap it all off Animal randomly turns heel to become an angry biker for a few weeks rendering the whole attempted nostalgia pointless. Who's boneheaded idea was this?

It's not like Heidenreich was doing much, plus they'd had Power Warrior and a few others on occasion in the past.
My only real problem with it was that their Doomsday Device was terrible. Heidenreich wasn't exactly the most aerial dude, and Animal was getting older, so I kept expecting his back to buckle and everyone to end up in a hospital.
I have definitely seen worse, though it did seem kind of misguided.

I didn't really hate it. Legion of Doom's legacy was already in the black for the weird shit they did with the alcoholic Hawk angle, I don't think they had any serious hope of replicating the original LOD success with Heidenreich. The whole thing came off as Animal just performing a courteous make-a-wish for an adult, not-fatally ill manbaby. Make the guy feel good about himself for a while, I remember it was at least somewhat over.
I think I get a bigger cringe thinking about the attempted push of middle aged Animal as a heel singles act.

I'd rather remember WrestleMania 13, when Ahmed Johnson came to the ring wearing the iconic shoulderpads alongside Hawk and Animal.

You've got to give it to him, he put that young up and comer "Mean" Mark Callous over and made a star out of him.

Oh goodness. I forgot just how much of a jackass Heidenreich looked like in the makeup.

Honestly he looked like one of over 10,000,000 women aged 18-30 who go get sugar skulls facepaint on Halloween and think it's clever.

I remember the joke me and my brother had at the time for Animal's choosing process.

A step down even further from Road Warrior Rocko and Road Warrior Puke. At least Puke was ready to commit murder to earn his spot on the team.

Ryback would have made a pretty good Road Warrior if he could use his "Big Guy" persona and just wreck everything.
