Yup. I'm a huge Valbowski fan.
I think he was really under-appreciated in the ring. Given the chance he could put on a solid match and I think that's the best word to describe him. Solid. He was always consistently solid. There's a lot of videos on YouTube of indy guys like CM Punk and Corey Graves who would go on to get signed facing Val on Heat. It seems like he was the measuring stick for years and I never see him get any credit. Not to mention he played his gimmick perfectly.

He was fun to use in games, in part since he's had so many finishers, his moveset tended to be good.

I always liked him too. As you said, a solid, reliable hand. Always on form.

I am also just in favor of anyone who uses Blue Thunder Powerbombs. Not sure why, it's just a nice move.

He was great in the Attitude Era and then he got fat and it kind of killed his gimmick.

I didn't appreciate it at the time, but looking back, in late 98-early 99 when the onus was very much off in-ring work and a lot of guys were getting by on their look or gimmick, Val and D-Lo stood head and shoulders above the rest of the midcard in terms of their wrestling ability.

When he was good he was a fun character, but then again he was booked horribly as well at times.
- Kai En Tai angle as hokey as it was was a decent fisrt storyline to give him attention - I enjoyed his feud with Goldust - I think his team with Godfather "Supply & Demand" could have been better long term for both as his 1999 was pretty sucky - Wasnt a fan of the Shamrock/Billy Gunn stuff as it was just around that messy era - I liked his fued with Jarrett, but the Nicole Bass pairing was bad - They tried to give him a big heel push in late 1999 against Foley but he ended up in another crappy 3 way with Dlo/Bulldog - I loved his angle with Rikishi and his pairing with Trish worked that was cut too short - He just didnt suit RTC, but since they were "cleansing" more Xrated characters I guess it worked - I have absolutley no idea what he did in 2001 but I know he became "The Big Valbowski" in 2002, that sucked and Cheif Morely in 2003, that sucked too - No memory of anything from 2004? But im sure he did a tag team angle with Visecera in 2005 that sucked. - Then gone right?
So yeah he had bright spots and pretty crappy spots as well, he was probably involved with more females than any other WWE character right? Jenna Jameson, Mrs Yamaguchi, Terri Runnels, Ryan Shamrock, Sable (briefly) Debra, Nicole Bass, Trish Stratus and Ivory.

I am also just in favor of anyone who uses Blue Thunder Powerbombs. Not sure why, it's just a nice move. I remember seeing him use that move once, and that was on Billy Gunn when he defended the IC title the night after the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Did he use that move other times? I liked the move, by the way.

Yep, it was something he used a number of times, sometimes for the win. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwIastRR3DMwww.youtube.com/watch?v=UvK-oQs_8J0 Starting at 2:40 in, a few more examples.

His match with D'Lo at Summerslam 98 was one of my favorites as a kid, would rewind it over and over on my vhs tape.

He got over in 1998. He was pretty good in the ring. I did think they wasted him for years. Even though he was most over when he was playing the porn star in 1998 into 1999, I think this gimmick may have hurt him in the long run. What some may not know is that Val Venis was a pretty big star in Puerto Rico before going to WWE.

I was a fan but I lost faith in the character when instead of getting with Debra or Sable he went with Nicole Bass. Then when he chose being an ice cream man over Trish Stratus he was dead to me.

He was one of the best mid-carders in recent memory. He'd be a great addition to the Performance Center as a trainer.

I liked him best as a heel. Recently making my way through the Attitude Era, and when he came in and they were pushing him as a face (because being a wife stealing slutpuppy is coooool), it was just cringey.

That stuff went over my head when he first started, but watching it when I got older, it was hilarious
