Today's games makes you appreciate last year's New Year's Day games even more. That was a day where the undercard and the main events delivered big time. Oregon/FSU wasn't THAT great. That game was a blast, everyone knew what was going to happen, FSU had won 2 games last season thanks to teams going conservative (Miami and Louisville), and Oregon wasn't a team that wasn't going to go conservative. Come on it gave us the Jameis fumble.

Come on it gave us the Jameis fumble. Ya, I think it was that folks wanted to see FSU finally get taken-down. A close game would have been better but watching the noles getting taken apart was still entertaining.

Screw a close game in last year's Rose Bowl. I wanted Florda State exposed for being the beneficiaries are a weak ACC and whose only victory of significance came from beating Notre Dame on a call that is never called...oh and Notre Dame dropped five in a row so that kinda took the piss outta that victory anyway IMO. FSU was undefeated and had to go in, got it. So I was all for Oregon beating the breaks off of em

And they're fighting on the TCU sideline. Nobody get the cops.

The Rose and Sugar Bowls need to piss off and let the playoff games be played on New Year's Day. It's like having the AFC/NFC Championship Games on Saturday then on Sunday there's a bunch of meaningless NFL Games.

Least my WVU is up next. Since we're the last game before the championship if we win are we #2?

Man I m disappointed. After the Orehon/Texas Alamo bowl a few yrs ago I felt the same way. A match up I wanted to see for years ends in a blow out. TCU seems to have farted after Boykin was suspended.

^yeah man kind of runs directly counter to my liking. I'll take a loss as long as I am entertained wire to wire. Occasionally smitting a hated foe is cool but most often it's more satisfying to beat em on the come back. I mentioned on last page, the rose bowl blow out a yr ago as an example of smitting. I'll reluctantly admit that a close game between two hiesman winners slinging it like Farve would have been more entertaining

Unless it's the team u a fan of putting the beatdown they not fun to watch I edited my response above to explain this exact point. Texas getting smacked by OU right after the summer realignment and Longhorn network debacle, was one such occasion I really enjoyed seeing an ass whipping rather than a close one. Felt good then, still feels good tonight

Penn State junior QB Christian Hackenberg announced he will declare for the 2016 NFL Draft. Any team that uses a Top 5 pick on him is a fool 20 bucks on Jerry Jones picking him.

He broke Penn State Quarterback Records, but what that shows me is Penn State never had a good Quarterback, because every time I watched Hack play all he did was throw picks or not be accurate in games where it really mattered.
The BACKUP that came in FOR him in the Taxslayer Bowl outperformed him and played better then I had seen Hack play all year, and honestly I feel like that had a hand in him declaring because I don't think he wanted to make it a competition this year.
Ill be fair and say some Quarterbacks transcend how they ever played in College and just become GREAT NFL Quarterbacks if given the chance, but all I have seen with Hackenberg is Hype and absolutely nothing to back it up. Lynch and Goff should absolutely be taken before him among others. If he's drafted, he's a work in progress for sure if that... I just don't see it...

Todd Blackledge was a great Penn State QB.

Todd Blackledge was a great Penn State QB. Hackenberg broke the Most Passing Yards and Touchdowns by a Penn State Quarterback in School History
And I honestly don't know how he did at times... every time I watched him play it just didn't look pretty

Ok quick, name me five Penn State QBs! No? Ok, my point is that is not really the accomplishment it sounds like. Joe Paterno was not exactly Mike Leach or Jack Pardee. I'm not even sure he knew th forward pass was a thing until 1987.

Its called what happens when your program up until 2005 was a run heavy program. Even then the only QB worth a damn was Daryll Clark
